I love a good pirate fantasy and boy this delivered. The way this author wrote this story felt so magical. There were so many elements of whimsy and wonder. I loved the characters, the world, the time period, the dialogue, the plot, and the mythology of it. Were there moments that felt silly and out of place? Yes. Did some of it feel over the top? Yes. But it's a pirate fantasy story, just enjoy the ride.
