Meh....

I really expected more of this book than it delivered. The switching back and forth from present to past probably would've worked better if it hadn't been such a long book (400+ pages). It had a good enough plot to be entertaining for the most part. But, the characters were hard to care about, in my opinion. So many parts of their story or personalities were masked with the intention to drag you in to the "need to know." But, it just made it tedious, not a deep desire to know what happened.
It took me a long time to finish this book because it was easy to set aside and forget.

I wanted to adore this... but I didn’t.

It was just... meh. I think she’s incredibly witty and that showed in the book. But, I didn’t finish this book feeling like I learned anymore about who she is — i mean, why else do you buy an autobiography. I personally feel it lacked depth. It needed more vulnerability. It took me a few months to finish it because i couldn’t force myself to read more than a little at a time.

Great read!

In the beginning, I remember thinking that the book had a strange lilt to it. I immediately googled it and saw that it was a translation so that was the explanation for the elementary wording. After that, the book quickly draws you in. From start to finish, I cried several times. I can’t wait to read Book 2!
