Again: So, so cute and healing for my inner teenager. I liked the first one a little better, bc this one moved a bit too fast for me. Still, I recommend this, whether you currently are a young person who feels anxious and lonely or someone who used to be this kind of teenager. - But be warned: it's so relatable that it might make you sad at some points, but only a little.

if i waited a few months to be in the best possible mood to read it, it would've hit even harder and ended up with an even higher rating, i think. 
still, i liked it a lot and i'm glad i read it despite being a little afraid of a story that has loneliness as a strong theme .. so maybe it wasn't too bad i didn't wait until it hit harder after all. it still managed to break my heart in multiple ways and stitched it back up at least a bit. 

Hat zu sehr großen Teilen sehr viel Spaß gemacht! Ich denke, gerade bei den Jugend-Thrillern von Ursula Poznanski reiht dieser sich für mich ziemlich oben mit ein.

Ich mochte die ganzen verschiedenen Welten und welche Bedürfnisse bei ihrer Erstellung bedacht werden. Auch das sich aufbauende Mysterium fand ich interessant. Es war interessant zu beobachten, wie die Protagonistin natürlich immer vor dem Hintergrund ihres eigenen Wissens handelt und sich über die Zeit ihr Blickwinkel ändert.. das ist jetzt etwas sehr mysteriös ausgedrückt, aber ich möchte nichts vorwegnehmen. (Hier weniger kryptisch, aber spoilery:

Ich fand es spannend zu verfolgen, wie Jana am Angang durch die ganzen verschiedenen Welten flieht und noch nicht weiß vor wem eigentlich und teilweise vor den "richtigen" und teilweise vor den "falschen" Leuten Angst hat, weil sie nicht differenzieren kann, was ihr von wem gesendet wird. Also dass die toten Tauben eigentlich von den "Guten" kommen, während ihr Arbeitgeber versucht, sie umzubringen, aber sie findet sowohl die Tauben als auch die fehlenden Transfer-Optionen gruselig.

Generell mochte ich den Plot, obwohl ich einen Teil der Lösung recht einfach vorherzusehen fand und demensprechend von diesem Teil des Reveals etwas underwhelmed war. Dennoch schmälert das nicht den Weg dahin und die aufgebaute Spannung.

Teile des Worldbuildings fand ich wirklich gut, andere wirkten etwas messy. Ich habe irgendwie nicht verstanden, warum man, wenn man schon in einer virtuellen Realität steckt, sich keine Nachrichten schicken kann, sondern extra auf Welten zurückgreifen muss, die "Stay in touch" heißen, wie so ne Facebook-Gruppe, die niemand nutzt. Ich meine, man kann sich doch heute schon auf den meisten Plattformen Nachrichten zukommen lassen, warum dann nicht innerhalb von diesem System, unabhängig von der Welt, in der sich eine Perosn gerade befindet. Außerdem habe ich da vielleicht was verpasst, aber ich bin irritiert, wie der Großteil der Menschheit einfach vor sich hin versorgt wird und nur zeitweise in die reale Welt geholt wird, um zu arbeiten für das Gemeinwohl. Das ist ja schön, aber ... irgendwie sehr unrealistisch mMn. So ein all inclusive Aufenthalt, der nichts kostet? I mean, nichts gegen die Abschaffung des Kapitalismus, aber ...?? Die tätigen ja auch keine "in app"-Käufe oder so, um Mastermind zu bezahlen, oder? Oder habe ich da was wichtiges irgendwo in diesem Hörbuch verpasst??

Na ja, wie dem auch sei, insgesamt auf jeden Fall ziemlich gut und echt empfehlenswert - v.a. für Leute, die mit sehr viel Input klarkommen und Spaß haben, Ursula Poznanskis Fantasie dabei zuzuschauen, wie sie ewig viele Welten erstellt, die alle wenig Screentime haben.

Oh, und P.S.: Liebe Ursula, kannst du bitte aufhören, in alles eine völlig unnötige Liebesbeziehung auf Biegen und Brechen einzubauen, die keinerlei romantische Chemie hat?? Das hat alles immer so platonic vibes, just let them be friends, I'm begging you.

Hier wurde für mein Empfinden viel richtig gemacht. Die Atmosphäre des Atombunkers kommt an und die Freundesgruppe hat genügend Charakter, um die Geschichte zu tragen.
Ich fand außerdem, dass die Hinweise auf die Lösung des Mysteriums zu großen Teilen geschickt eingefädelt wurden. Manche Sachen habe ich schneller kommen sehen als andere, bei manchen Sachen wurde ich erfolgreich an der Nase herumgeführt, die letztliche Auflösung mochte ich und habe sie auch nur vage zu greifen bekommen, bevor sie geschah. Nice :)

Mich persönlich haben die ganzen popkulturellen Referenzen nicht gestört - ich kann verstehen, wenn man das irgendwie cringy findet, aber tbh rede ich in meinem Freund*innenkreis in abgeschwächter Variante auch so. Ebenso fand ich persänlich es relatable, dass Eileen (weiß nicht, ob das die richtige Schreibweise ist, hab das Hörbuch gehört) mehr oder minder passend ständig anfängt, irgendwelche Songs zu singen, die sie in der Situation assoziiert. War zwar etwas nervig, aber hey, ich konnte es nachvollziehen. 
Zu dem Referenzen-Thema sei allerdings auch gesagt, dass man sich beim Lesen/Hören schlecht aufgehoben fühlen wird, wenn spezifisch Harry Potter Referenzen einem ein schlechtes Gefühl geben, von denen gibt es nämlich eine Menge!

Ich kann nicht ganz erklären, warum ich nicht völlig begeistert von diesem Buch bin. Ich würde es durchaus empfehlen, wenn man nach einem interessanten Jugend-Thriller sucht und etwas unterhaltsames zum Lesen/Hören benötigt. Aber irgendwie war ich nicht komplett mitgerissen. Vielleicht, weil die Exposition echt eine gaaaaanze Weile braucht. Ist zwar gut, weil es die Charaktere und deren Dynamiken vorgestellt werden (auch z.B. durch das Lupus Noctis Spiel), aber irgendwie braucht es dadurch wirklich Zeit, bis alles in Fahrt kommt und spannend wird.
Ich fand außerdem den Handlungsstrang einer bestimmten Figur

ein bisschen unnütz insgesamt. Der Strang hat Informationen gebracht, aber irgendwie zu wenig, weil man als lesende Person viele Infos schon hatte, nach denen dieser Charakter gesucht hat.

Insgesamt hat's aber durchaus Spaß gemacht und ich fand den Epilog sehr passend.

I liked this one the most out of the trilogy, because it takes such a turn in the second half and adds a completely new element. Everything goes off the rails and while it hurts a bit to read everything these characters that grew on you over the curse of the series go through, it's also very gripping and ... entertaining? That seems like a weird word to use in this context. In an effort to not say too much one last thing before I share some very spoilery thoughts: I liked how morally complicated it gets.

Some very spoilery thoughts:

- I remember being a little annoyed that Pip, the little smartass, didn't think for one second that maybe .. maybe Andie was talking about her own father in the draft, even though she knew how fucking misogynistic he was. I was internally screaming at her in that moment. But to be fair, I got so sucked in during the second half of the story that I stopped caring about that little thing soon enough
- the way my heart sank when Hawkins asked questions about the headphones and I realized why he asked them, shortly before he revealed that they found them in Jason's house ... it was such a well executed moment in my opinion

Just as addictive as the first one, listening to the audio book goes by really fast. I still think Pip is an interesting character, she's one of the good ones, clearly, but man she makes questionable decisions. [EDIT: listening to the 3rd book rn and well ...

For the first book, I felt like the solution of the case was partly done well and partly a little too over the top for my tastes. This time, I felt like it was more balanced, which was great - at the same time, this lead to me putting more pieces together correctly a little too early on.

It was fun and fast to listen to, rather addictive. I loved Pip, she's a really driven character. (... To the point where she just completely ignores that she has no clue how to deal with the potential emotional fallout of talking to potentially traumatized people. Pip, I love you, but you were a little reckless sometimes.) The mystery was interesting to follow. Part of the solution was a little over the top for me, but the rest of it was well done in my opinion.

For example: Idk why it was important to include the part where Elliot kept this disabled girl captive, I think it would've been enough for him to be paranoid that Andie might be out there somewhere.

All in all I liked this (audio) book, though I don't get why it's this beloved.  

OMG I LOVED THIS SO MUCH!!!

I don't know the last time a main character felt this relatable to me (probably Georgia from Loveless). The overthinking?? It just felt like my own head the entire time. (I am happy for people who don't have to endure that every second of every day.) The self-gaslighting (fueled by others)? Not trusting yourself with anything, even if it's about something within yourself, because how are you supposed to know things about yourself? The people pleasing? The need to research every discourse ever, because you don't trust your own instincts/knowledge enough to have an opinion - followed by flipping from one side to another over and over again, bc you can understand everyones points? 
... I felt very seen (especially younger me), thank you Imogen. 
If you are anything like that, you will, too and reading this will make you feel a lot. Even if you don't specifically struggle with the question of being bi, but anything else.

And the romance is so sweet? Imogen and Tessa are so damn cute, I can't. And Lily is such a great friend, I love her.
I also liked how conflicts within the queer community were handled.

I liked that while Gretchen got a lot of shit of course (and rightfully so), it was understandable where she was coming from and therefore she wasn't that much of the villain of the story. In my head, they talk it out somewhen and become friends again.

Oh, and on a completely different note: This book is so easy to get through. The chapters are very short, and there are a lot of text messages back and forth. I flew through this (I read 200 pages in one evening? Under normal circumstances that would be impossible for me).

THIS WAS SO WONDERFUL!!! I'M SO GLAD I STUMBLED UPON THIS!!!

I loved everything about this. It was whimsical, magical and wholesome and I will read it a few times more in the future, I'm sure.
The art style is so expressive, I especially loved Snap. She seemed so real, every emotion so clearly displayed (the others as well, but Snap is so energetic that I thought it was especially well done). She's a wonderful child in general. Her excitement for things other kids might find creepy, her loud personality, her love for animals... The other characters were wonderful as well, Jacks is an absolute delight. (I need to read more things with elderly butch women, I think.)
I also loved the witchy things, they're basically druids <3 
The story arcs were woven together in a way I really enjoyed and how everything was kept lighthearted, even though there would've been opportunities to go darker. (... Beside the obvious of animal skeletons being everywhere. I thought I'd be creeped out, but I wasn't.)

Do yourself a favor and read this, it'll warm your heart.

 (can also recommend reading this outside in the sun ... or in the shadows while it's sunny, in my case)

P.S. für deutsche Lesende: Ich bin lediglich leicht verwirrt, weil Vi basically direkt nacheinander Lulu richtig als Mädchen bezeichnet, dann aber von Snaps "Freund" spricht? I am confused. Idk ob das ein Fehler ist oder ein komischer Gebrauch des generischen Maskulinums?
