this BROKE me. deep down in my core. i had to pause & regroup SO many times. this was terrifying, heart-wrenching, gut-punching, soul-stirring in the worst way.
this has been on my WTR/TBR for a while because i knew it'd be HEAVY and it was HEAVIER than i imagined. the hope i had for monday & august sank to my toes & seeped out of me.
i sobbed so much towards the end, feeling the pain of monday & augusts' loss in my chest. the way it impacted claudia. they were babies. they deserved so much more.
i felt immersed in their story. this was phenomenally written, structured & narrated, but i hope to never to read a story like this ever again.

audiobook review 🎧
the narration definitely added to the quality of the story. i actually really enjoy the neighbors to lovers type beat. the humor was decent, big mama saying "my titties are low but my spirits are high" did make me cackle.
the spice, however, was lackluster. i also feel like the story was a bit everywhere & i'm not a super fan of the bitter ex/situationship subplot. also, arthur being super vulgar with his flirtatiousness while also making sure everyone heard him pounding his pursuits kinda turned me off. i get that's his personality or whatever.
i would have enjoyed a lengthier novel with witty banter between the mcs, more detailed & lengthier spicy scenes, and a bit more structure. with a longer novella, eve's backstory about her relationship with her sister, mother & grandmother could've been told better.
2.75/5

i'm not your typical horror/thriller girlie. i don't watch horror movies so i'm not sure if this is inspired by any specific film... i'm very much just jumping into this bag, but i did throughly enjoy this audiobook! the character development & relationships between this group of friends was very satisfying. i loved the sapphic rep as a wuhluhwuh myself. i was VERY pleased with the ending & i also enjoyed the descriptions very much! i love this author's writing style as well! i did read through some reviews & saw points, but ultimately rating is subjective & i enjoyed my read. i plan to check out this author's other YA horror novel as well!
