Under Lock & Skeleton Key

DID NOT FINISH: 15%

I hate to say it but the narration was extremely hard to follow. Maybe I’ll try to read it again sometime, but while I’m in a reading slump it’s just really not intriguing enough to pass by the bad narration

Fast-paced, exciting, hilarious, and terrifically romantic.
medium-paced

Overall, I liked the book but there were many aspects that just weren't as good as the first one.

I wish that the series ended sooner n a different character. I love Carter, but it honestly fell a bit flat for me unfortunately. There were parts I wanted to skip because they took so damn long to get through

I re-read this book before I read Brothersong. Honestly I loved the romance parts of Joe and Ox’s relationship, but still found the entire middle of the book to be… not great. The others in the series so far are much, much better. But nothing beats Ox and Joe’s romantic beginnings.

This one felt a little long at times, but definitely is my favorite of the series so far. It was one interesting twist and turn after the next and the love there between them all was touching.

I liked this better than the first. Still tons of angst, but it wasn’t so much teen angst but trauma of healing old wounds. I admit I skipped over a lot of the villains dialogue as it was long and far too crazy religious babbling for my attention span to be able to endure. Overall, I’m glad I didn’t stop the series. And while I loved certain aspects of the last book, this one was much more rounded overall and I enjoyed having characters in their upper 30’s/early 40’s to focus on.
