Things I liked:
*Very cozy
*The fat shaming finally stopped
Things I didn't like:
*She's happily dating a misogynist who literally said the phrase "women can never know men the way men know men so listen to me" in a threatening way to get her to stay away from the other man she's dating (while none of them are exclusive).
*"Woman is eating more food than usual??? PREGNANT!!!! MUST BE PREGNANT!!!!!!!" -Hannah Swensen
*The woman who is *of course* pregnant because women can't just be hungry gets hounded for not drinking alcohol like maybe she doesn't want to divulge that she's pregnant the DAY SHE FINDS OUT in case, idk, she has a miscarriage which is extremely common and traumatic to go through, especially when people know you were pregnant
*Hannah is a know it all piece of shit that insists on constantly correcting people's grammar, even when her life just got saved by the person she's correcting. she just HAS TO BE THE SMARTEST PERSON OR SHE'LL EXPLODE
At this point I think I hate myself or I wouldn't make myself listen to these. However, my work shifts are super long and boring but it pays the bills and free audiobooks go a long way to entertain me during the day. You could say I love to hate these. And boy do I hate them. But hey, what else do I have going on during work other than mindlessly working? On to the next crappy free audiobook by Joanne Fluke.

If you like books where women support other women and aren't constantly thinking about how ugly they are because they weigh 10 extra pounds and how ugly other people are because they're a few pounds overweight and how she needs to watch what she eats while eating cookies for breakfast, than this series is not for you.
If you take those parts out of the book, it's really a good cozy mystery. But every time a woman is mentioned it's followed by how they shouldn't wear something or another because they look fat or shouldn't eat something or another for the same reason. Plus they make her mother unbearable.
I'm going to try to keep listening to another audiobook just hoping that this gets better because otherwise it's just so cozy and cute. But.... these features are just SO annoying that I'm angry and annoyed half of the book. I don't know if I should keep trying but the series is free with my audible membership and easy to listen to while I work so I guess I'll give the next book a try too. Lets hope it gets less misogynistic.

The main character is extremely unlikable. She's not even trying to get over her ex and suddenly this woman that everyone is TERRIFIED of pops up and she's just like "yeah I'm going to ignore that and not ask anyone why they're scared and accept her even though really weird things are happening and she's lying to me about everything left and right" ....like? Have some common sense and at least call her out on lying to you constantly instead of rolling over like literal life threatening situations that could have been avoided if she told the truth aren't that serious. It's just not worth continuing based on the reviews I read that said how disappointing the ending is.

I wish I had read this book sooner. It is so heartwarming, charming, and funny. I teared up at multiple points and I almost never do that with books. This book feels like a hug from supportive and loving found family and feeling like you're where you belong.

If you're looking for your next cozy fantasy, look no further. This is a heartwarming and cute book about overcoming your past to accept who you are and make new beginnings with tons of found kinship along the way. There are some serious parts at the end, and I don't like how long it took the main character to disclose that he was a blood mage since everyone would have accepted it sooner, but this was overall quite a phenomenal story.

What can I say? I didn't expect to be giggling, kicking my feet, and screaming with how actually cute this couple is. Yeah, it's a slightly ridiculous premise and meetcute, but once you just accept it and start having fun it's actually so adorable... and hot.

This would have been a 5 star books had it not been for the heartbreaking “push them away and lie to them to “protect” them even though you could have just had an honest conversation and saved a lot of pain” trope thrown in there. That really turned me off in the last 100 pages all I could think of was how much hurt could have been avoided, and all for nothing. That, and the obsession with Serena was slightly annoying until the end. I get she wanted to find her, but it was a lot at times. Otherwise, good book. I just really hate that trope.
