Wow! That was great! This book was picked for my book club, and I’m so glad it was. What a great thriller. I was able to figure out the twists, but it still had me wanting to read more.
I listened to the audio version and thought the narrator was perfect for his character!
I highly recommend this for fans of thrillers!

My rating is based on the audio book which I did not enjoy. I don’t think this was the best format format for this book. I feel like I should read the actual book to see if my rating changes
I got this through Audible Originals and needed a quick read so figured why not. This would be great for kids, but was a little too young for me. Fun storyline though.

Natalie is a struggling art student in Manhattan. She lives in Brooklyn with two roommates that she doesn’t get along with, barely able to pay her rent and other bills. She has no money for food and loses her job. She’s desperate. When she notices that her art school classmate has designer clothes and a great apartment in Chelsea, she asks her how. That’s when her friend tells her about being a Sugar Baby. There’s a website where older men or Sugar Daddies will meet younger woman, Sugar Babies, and pay them for dates and other things if they are interested. Although she is skeptical and a little turned off by the idea, Nat decides to just go on a few meet-ups for $500 each so she can pay her bills.
Nat meets Gabe through the Sugar Babies website, and they immediately hit it off. Gabe is a corporate lawyer who has a wife and daughter in the Hamptons, but an apartment in the city so it’s easy to make these Sugar Babies believe he’s divorced when in fact he isn’t. He lies to Nat as well and asks her to make their arrangement official – regular dinners and Broadway shows throughout the week and sleepovers, maybe even a getaway.
Nat develops feelings for Gabe and believes that he has them for her as well. When he decides to end their arrangement, Nat becomes obsessed with him. She’s will do anything to get him back, even befriend his 18 year old daughter. Things take a turn for the worse when Gabe is murdered and Nat is arrested. She doesn’t remember shooting him in the face, but she was in a downward spiral, drinking out of control, after he ended things. Could she have murdered him?
The Arrangement by Robyn Harding is an interesting concept. I didn’t know much about the Sugar Baby lifestyle prior to reading this except what I’ve seen on Law & Order: SVU! I think that I would have liked this book better if the characters weren’t all so unlikable. Nat started off okay. She seemed like any other struggling college kid, but then her character became a complete psycho. Gabe was just an awful person. He was misogynistic and a complete narcissist. He had no care for the Sugar Babies that he paid for. They were another business transaction for him, and he didn’t care if he hurt them or his family at all.
I had one other big issue with this book. When using Facebook, if you block someone you can’t see their profile, but Nat was able to see her ex-boyfriend’s profile even though she blocked him. The author should have researched better and hopefully will fix this before the book is released.
Overall, I found the story interesting and the author definitely kept me wanting to read more. It was a hard book to put down. I did figure out the big twist, but it didn’t make me want to stop reading. I just wish I felt more for the main characters.

Winter Flower is the first book of Charles Sheehan-Miles that I have read. I was not disappointed at all. This novel tells the story of the Roberts' family and is told from each of their points of view after Brenna, the older sister, disappears. Two years after her disappearance, we see how Erin, the mother, Cole, the father, and Sam, the younger sibling are handling things.
There lives have seemed to fall apart and Sam is dealing with a secret as well which is a major part of the story. I don't want to give any spoilers away, as I feel this book is great to go into without knowing what is going to happen. What I really liked about this book though was even though the family seemed to be falling apart, once they found out Brenna was alive, they were able to rebuild what they had lost.
This is a hard read though. There are some parts that might be tough to deal with especially with Brenna and everything she went through.
I think the way the author developed the characters was great. There are two other characters that aren't telling their point of view, but are crucial in this story - Jeremiah, Cole's best friend, and Jim, Cole's father. They were great characters that definitely need a shout out!

The Corpse Wore Stilettos is M.J. O’Neill’s debut novel. This is a fun, cozy mystery about Kat Waters who works in a morgue and one night one of the bodies she is working on is stolen. Kat pairs up with DC who works with her and Burns McPhee who owns a security company who happened to also be in the morgue the night the corpse was stolen.
Kat’s family was wealthy until her father was arrested for racketeering and being involved with the mafia. Kat gets a job at the morgue to help support her mother and grandmother until they solve what is going on with her father. I loved all of the quirky characters in this book especially Grand, Kat’s grandmother. She was such a kook, and I loved the scenes she was in.
I am a big fan of cozy mysteries, and this one did not disappoint. I didn’t figure out the ending, but I did know one character would be involved, but I won’t give away any spoilers. I’m looking forward to the sequel especially because this one ended with a cliff hanger. Plus, I want to see what happens with Kat and Burns. O'Neill did a great job of keeping the readers interested so that they'll continue with the series.

The Crazy Rich Asians are back in book two, and this time it's more over the top than book one. I loved all the different restaurants they went to and the shopping in Paris was amazing, however I also wanted more of a plot.
I really hope that book three is more about Astrid and Charlie because theirs is the best story in the books.

When I read the description of The Perfect Wife by J.P. Delaney, I thought the plot sounded great. I was really looking forward to reading it. Then when I started the book, I was so confused and wasn't even sure I had the right book.
Tim Scott, a tech billionaire, has lost his wife Abbie, but is she missing or dead? In an effort to bring her back, he creates an emotionally intelligent companion robot, or a cobot, in her image with her memories. Did Tim create her as a replacement for the wife he loved, to act as a mother to their autistic son, to launch his career even further, or for some other reason entirely?
When I read the first chapter and learned that Abbie was an AI I was so confused. Sci-fi isn't really my genre, and I don't think I would have requested this book had I realized that's what it was. However, I did find it intriguing and wanted to keep reading to see where it was going. I almost DNF this book, but decided to stick with it. The plot was well paced and moved quickly, and the chapters were shorter which I prefer.
This book is told from two different perspectives, one from Abbie, the cobot's point of view, and one from the point of view from someone who worked at Tim's tech company. We don't learn who is telling the second point of view until the end, and it was a big surprise. I honestly didn't see the ending coming which was nice for a psychological thriller.
What this book does is question is the difference between being human and being a self-aware AI. The author has a child with autism, and brings up some different teaching methods for Danny, Tim and Abbie's son throughout the book. The biggest question is could the cobot possibly be the one to help Danny with his learning and behavior and could it do it better than an actual human?
I think this book would be good for anyone who likes thrillers with some sci-fi mixed in.

This was a cute summer romance. Gigi is a 27 year-old who lives in Manhattan and was working as a fashion designer before being fired. She's also in love with her best friend's fiance and with their wedding coming up in a few months, she decides to escape for the summer - to the summer camp she went to as a child, but this time as a counselor. Gigi spends the summer competing with her rival camp counselor, Perry, until sparks start to fly between them. Gigi realizes that she can't escape the present by returning to her past and decides to reexamine her life and hopefully find the true meaning of love.
This is book one in a series and was a very easy read. This is a great option for a beach book and was a lot of fun.
