Winter Flower by Charles Sheehan-Miles
4.0

Winter Flower is the first book of Charles Sheehan-Miles that I have read. I was not disappointed at all. This novel tells the story of the Roberts' family and is told from each of their points of view after Brenna, the older sister, disappears. Two years after her disappearance, we see how Erin, the mother, Cole, the father, and Sam, the younger sibling are handling things.

There lives have seemed to fall apart and Sam is dealing with a secret as well which is a major part of the story. I don't want to give any spoilers away, as I feel this book is great to go into without knowing what is going to happen. What I really liked about this book though was even though the family seemed to be falling apart, once they found out Brenna was alive, they were able to rebuild what they had lost.

This is a hard read though. There are some parts that might be tough to deal with especially with Brenna and everything she went through.

I think the way the author developed the characters was great. There are two other characters that aren't telling their point of view, but are crucial in this story - Jeremiah, Cole's best friend, and Jim, Cole's father. They were great characters that definitely need a shout out!

I received an advanced copy from BookSirens in exchange for my honest review.
