It was funny but also a bit outdated and very written by a man. 

The writing was kind of boring and I wasn’t invested enough in the characters 

It definitely reads a bit simple but it gives off oral fable vibes, the ones that always change a little with every generation. The descriptions of South America were enriching, you could really picture yourself there. 5 stars because of the storytelling and the bittersweet ending.
