when i read a non fiction i want to either learn something or learn about a person’s experiences. this was neither of those; it’s just a collection of random events written in prose (very good prose) about a ton of different artists that make it hard to keep track. i think it’d be a good read for someone who knows a lot about 1930s europe and/or the art scene then, but if not you do sort of lose interest after a while.

i liked a few but not enough to continue, although the audiobook is really good (narrated by the author) 

hate when a bad bitch loses her powers and becomes weak and fragile to the mmc 

was trying to find a reason to dnf then one of the side characters mentioned his ‘summer in israel’ and ‘the sense of community’. no thanks. 

i have a feeling i’m gonna dislike this as much as myorar, so i’m dnfing before i give it that chance 

no reason i just don't feel like picking it up right now

i’m almost two hundred pages in and i don’t feel anything for the characters, their relationships or their plot. maybe if i read this as a teen i would’ve enjoyed it but honestly maybe not. 

once again, maybe later 

at least i got more into it than last time

so strange because historical mysteries with a romance would normally be 100% up my alley but right now i’m just not feeling it. maybe in the future i’ll pick it back up
