not my usual style of book but incredibly evoking and vulnerable 

moral of the story: don’t put your trust in a man to protect you from a vampire bc they are stupid

reread in 2024 and the vibes are still immaculate, particularly for halloween. just a wholesome romance with two people who actually act their age (shock horror!!). i love second chance lovers and this one definitely delivered.

I did find Tom’s character less well written than the other two, but maybe because we only got their perspectives. The writing gave a perfect ambience for a crisp and chilly autumn read, and I do think I’ll cry at the ending when I watch the film.

slightly lower rating for this book from the first, only because i felt lazlo and sarai's relationship wasn't written as well or became a backdrop. everything else was lovely; i think this book focused more on the depth of the characters instead of worldbuilding like the first, which i loved because every person in this book is lovely and sad and sweet and memorable. i finished this book knowing i will miss them all.

one of the best audiobooks i've listened to, particularly with the sounds added in. also loved the coming of age story of one of my favourite characters in star wars.
