why are there no paragraphs? reading this was so confusing

the most intricate political fantasy i’ve ever read. game of thrones lovers this one’s for you. the characters felt so visceral and real, their desires, ambitions and anguish so beautifully written. i do unfortunately have to add shelley parker chan to the list of authors paying for my therapy bill though.
emotional funny lighthearted

i adored this book! the characters, the things they’ve been through, how they come together as a family, it’s so heartwarming. i’d recommend for lovers of house on the cerulean sea.
funny lighthearted medium-paced

a quick and cosy read, with the most inane plot. the romance was quite slapdash and so was the love interest’s backstory/trauma, it was literally shoved into one of the last chapters and resolved(?) in minutes. besides that it wasn’t too bad of a modern witchy romance.

i don't think i'm a poetry girlie :(
adventurous lighthearted

Lots of humour and witty fun, but I have grown tired of the way all the female MCs despite their badassery have this sexual naiveté that it is supposed to a point of humour but comes off quite worrying, particularly when they make innuendos cluelessly and literally everyone else smirks and doesn't bother informing them of anything.

I adored this book! It reminded me a lot of Divergent but in the best way: I enjoyed watching Violet's growth into a fearless and strong rider, and was actually in tears when
bonded to not only one but two dragons
! The relationships between each character were fleshed out and had me giggling and sobbing at times, but in particular Xaden and Violet's relationship was breathtaking to observe too. The worldbuilding was explained brilliantly, and the writing had a way of making me feel like I was also training and fighting to survive in the college too. What a cliffhanger though!! I can't wait for the next book.
