I have read quite a few serial killer books but this is unlike anything I’ve ever read before!
Normally, it will be written from the perspective of the killer himself and less focus would be on the victims. A lot of them even glorify the killers in some ways. This however, does a phenomenal job of not only empathizing with the victims but showing them as actual people and not caricatures.
It is unlike anything I’ve ever read! Kept me at the edge of my seat throughout.

The Red Room is a book about the horrors of the dark web and the perverse nature of some people in the world. That is about all I can give you about this book because you have to just dive in and trust me that you’re in for a ride!

I felt like I was watching an extremely gripping and fast paced thriller series in my head and I hope to God that there will be a book two of this because I have SO many questions. The ending left me wanting more. I want to know what happened to all the characters that were introduced in this book.

I can’t write down my questions here because I can’t ask them without spoilers.

The best advice I can give you is that pick this one up and go into it as blindly as possible! It is an epic ride!

I didn’t love the ending and that’s why it’s a solid 4 stars for me.

Most of the books I read are heavy reads, but this book was even more so because it alludes to real events. Current events, about human suffering at the hands of the powerful. Duplicitous people who have so many facades that it would make your head spin.

While the story was intriguing and written well, try as I may I could not get invested in Evie or Cyrus as people. I wish more time was given to give more substance to these characters. Their back story is placed almost like a placeholder and I kept waiting for it to unfold in more detail so I can truly sink my heart into this story but it didn’t happen.

I’ve given it four stars because it is an important story to read. This story is about human trafficking, xenophobia and politics.

Holy smokes what a book! I mean I was physically sick while reading it because it’s written so well. Everything that the victims of this animal face is written so vividly.
It’s graphic and gut wrenching in the best way possible. Ella will forever be my hero and one of the strongest female characters I’ve ever read.
This book in itself is a trigger warning of severe and explicit sexual violence, kidnapping, violence against children and so much more.
A really really heavy read but worth it.

What an incredible book about love, loss, courage and the pursuit of freedom.
I listened to the audiobook on the app Libby so I was unable to annotate anything but if I had the print book (which I will get asap) I would’ve highlighted probably half the book. The prose of this book is that brilliant!
This story is a must read for everyone!

Florence was a nurse practitioner has a patient, a man and a wife Who keep visiting her Clinic. The wife keeps claiming different symptoms but all her tests keep coming back negative even after months of investigation. The Husband is always there and speaks for the wife whenever the nurse asks her a question. Later the wife is found dead and the husband in a coma in the result of what seems to be a suicide pact. The nurse is convinced that the husband had gaslit his wife into committing suicide, and he took a low-dose of the drug that had killed her so he would only end up in a coma and not die.
That sounded like such an interesting premise for a book, didn’t it? I was excited to get into it, however for about 300 pages, nothing else happens other than nurse Florence dating, dealing with her ex and just regurgitating her suspicion of the circumstances in which the wife died. There were times when I wanted to yell at Florence that fine ok I get it! You don’t think it was a suicide. Can we please move on!

Honestly, if this was not an advance reader copy I would have not finished it. When I receive an arc book, I take it seriously and I make sure to finish it. I hate giving bad reviews. I don’t enjoy it. I know how much work and effort goes into writing a book. I am struggling right now to find something good to say about this one.
If you do wanna read it, just read the blurb and then read the last two chapters of the book and you will know exactly what happened in the entire book.

I really loved the setting of this thriller and that is what made me pick up this book. However, I found Elin, the main protagonist to be such a pain.
Even when her entire backstory was revealed I didn’t buy it. I didn’t enjoy watching her bumble through this entire book. She is meant to be a trained detective and yet she comes across as an amateur. Perhaps that was the intention, not sure.
However, having said that I think this is a decent enough thriller to spend an afternoon with.

I need to divide this book in two halves to review it. Before the twist and after the twist. Before the twist this book is a solid 4 stars and has done the high school friendship where one is rich with controlling parents and the other is poor with an alcoholic mom and abusive step father trope done perfectly!

I really enjoyed the dynamics of the two friends but then the twist happened and I just couldn’t buy in to any of it. It felt forced to right till the end. The idea that fame corrupts just wasn’t fleshed out and believable. I can’t say more without giving spoilers so I’ll stop here.

I think if you’re looking for a palette cleanser or a book you can get through quickly, then give this a read.

I also think that because I read an arc book that I received from NetGalley and Harlequin (BIG THANKYOU!) that was not formatted correctly for the kindle that spoilt my reading experience somewhat.
