Picked it up, thought it was an interesting idea.

And it was...but the execution was awful. I only finished it because I have a strict no quit policy.

The dialogue was horrible and the story itself died quicker than many of the unfortunate smalls.

2 wild children rip offs out of 10.

Whole lotta explosions going on...

8.5 red and blue pig tails out of 10.

A sad, sad story, well told.

8.5 tears out of 10.

4.5 stars.

The Oatmeal rules.

9 annoying email attachments out of 10.

A short, concise, well researched and written treatment of a very important topic.

I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the roots of separation of church and state in the United States.

10 anti-catholic rallies out of 10.

Exceptional.

10 gas masks out of 10

They say you can't go home again.

But for the few hours I spent between the covers of this play, I was pretty damn close.

I loved the story. It is great when HP goes all timey-wimey.

My only quibble is that the dialogue wasn't written by Rowling. Great plot, wonderful new characters, and of course time spent with the golden oldies. But no one does dialogue like Jo and it showed.

So, if Goodreads let us give half stars, I would give a 4.5.

That one quibble aside, I loved every minute I spent reading and I am grateful I got to spend the time in this world again.

9.5 jumps through time out of 10

I found this to be an exceptional book.

Accessible and well researched.

Though I had read of Hamilton and Burr in other books, I really enjoyed how the author kept us on Burr's story after Hamilton had died. I had read a few articles about Burr and his shenanigans later in life, but I hadn't absorbed the detail the author goes into.

Whether you are a history nerd like me or you are just interested because of all the Hamilton Mania that his going on right now, I highly recommend this treatment of the lives of A.Burr and A.Ham.

10 paces and "PRESENT!" out of 10.
