I loved this one just as much as The Kiss Quotient. The fact that this story revolves around the cousin of Michael from the first story and you read about him in this one as he pursues “love” in his own way. I’m sold on anything Helen Hoang writes at this point. The steam is there, the wholesomeness, the whole story was great
Look I'm sad it took me a month to finish this when it was so good!!
God I absolutely love the setting of this and the mythology behind it. Mortals, Immortals, and other beings everywhere. I loved Xingyin and how strong she was through out the book with everything she goes through, and Sue Lynn Tan made me care for both the guys in the love triangle too. I'm glad it was a happy for now feeling at the end too, I'm happy seeing Xingyin getting what she worked so hard to do from the beginning and learning about the history of the kingdom and her lineage as well.
I can't wait for the next book. I know this isn't a coherent and long review I normally do. I just loved this book and that's all I have to say without spoiling things. I would definitely recommend this to people who love mythology and retellings, fantasy with asian representation, strong willed and independent women, slow-burn romance, heartbreaking moments, love triangles, gods, dragons, celestial beings. All that good stuff. :)

Hassana and Husseina are twin sisters that are separated and given different paths after their home is raided.
This book is a historical fiction with a coming of age story between twins who have to find their way back to each other. Each twin experiences vastly different ways of life after their home was raided. I enjoyed learning about Candomble religion that Husseina experiences and practices! This book made me want to research Nigeria and Brazil during the 1890s with abolishment of slavery and how Europeans were involved there as well. I enjoyed this book a lot, especially the character development of both the twins!!

~This graphic novel is narrated by the house itself. The house portrays the owner, Isla, as a strong-willed, stubborn, and overly curious being. The owner hires Marie to help around the house and she is described as meek and a being who barely leaves a trace in the house.
~Graveneye displays the behaviors of people going through domestic abuse, especially the characteristics of the victim and although briefly, the abuser as well.
~Although, I don't often read graphic novels with this art style, I thought it suited the story and I really appreciate that.
CW: body horror, domestic abuse, blood

This is the first ✨schmutty✨book I’ve read and it did not disappoint. If you like a dark fantasy with some spicy
