This book is definitely more similar to 50 shades of grey than book 1. I mean the pleasure room, the millionaire aspect, the possessiveness, the kinks, the contract aspect, the “you’ll only stay at my house on weekends” & the affection aspect was verrryyyy similar & I ate every single piece of it up. This book was sooo good & sooo nasty.

Let me just get the first & only con/ick out of the way—She literally called this man Mr. Dymon throughout the entire book like even when she was thinking about him or talking about him to other people & I didn’t like that.
Now for the good stuff…To me this book definitely had 50 shades of grey vibes but a little softer & quinci definitely had more backbone then Anna.
This was my first book by this author & this was a dang good book. The office romance aspect, broken family, dom/sub aspect, the possessiveness of both characters for each other. Everything was really good.

There’s nothing like a man seeing what he wants & doing whatever necessary to get it & that’s exactly what Elias did when it came to him being with Cress.
I loved the mental health aspect of it specifically a black man dealing with a serious mental health disorder & how that disorder not only affects him but everyone around him. Cress also got extra points for sticking beside her man & not being influenced by ppl who thought they knew better or didn’t agree with her decision to stick beside her man.

This is an extremely slow burn so slow that it seems as though the story was getting away from what I thought the main plot was from book 1. It’s as though the suspense feel went away & it became more about if she was going to have s3x with the guys. & then she (the FMC) annoyed me in book 1 & disappointed me in this book because she talks about getting them back & all of this after finding out about the game but it all kinda falls flat for me.

Because nobody told me this is book one of a trilogy so it ends on a cliffhanger…
The only thing stopping me from giving this book 5 stars was the FMC- Story. God knows she irked my nerves soo bad but it was still good. This book wasn’t dark at all (I’m my opinion) but that’s to be expected due to this just being book 1.

This book is the definition of “if it’s meant to be it’ll be.” For majority of this book I was mad at leighton for giving Jahad a hall pass which essentially opened the door for fate/destiny to do its thing but by the end of the book I realized that it HAD to happen. All 3 characters experienced pain but it was necessary so they could get their HEA. The situation with leighton & Farrah was the only thing that caught me off guard but it definitely made sense.
Im lowkey speechless after reading this. Miss Candice definitely did her thing with this one.

Graphic: Child death, Miscarriage
The gap was unnecessary to me. It would’ve been nice to see how the two main character’s relationship evolved instead it was like one drunken night after a party they hooked up (which was fade to black) then months later they all in love with each other. Like what happened?! & then the FMC brother was acting real feminine like & complaining waaaayyyy too much for my liking.
medium-paced
Second chance Romance with an unexpected pregnancy that was hidden for years. This book was okay. The people behind the FMC hiding her pregnancy was a little bit of a shocker but overall this was a cute book.
