From the outset the book read like an episode of game of thrones and had me hooked. It throws you in at the deep end and keeps moving at a fast pace whilst still being able to build suspense which I really enjoyed.
There were king/queen, battle, magic, immortality elements and the the characters also had direct interactions with the gods which added a mythological element. I also enjoyed that the main characters wasn't someone who had always had to fight, he started life as a spoilt prince...
I can’t wait to see what the next instalment brings.
*Thank you to Anne Carter, Jodie Bond and Parthian Books for my copy in exchange for an honest review .
This is the story of an alcoholics struggle with recovery whilst being the target of someone's revenge.
I felt like the story line itself was good and had some good twists and was full of potential. However I found it so hard to care about the main character as she just seemed so whiny and pathetic. I know that it could be said that it makes her seem more like a recovering alcoholic but for me it just made it hard to read. I also couldn't believe the love interest, they meet then that's it, they are a couple and he wants her to move back to London with him without even going on any proper dates!
Thanks to Net Galley for the copy in exchange for review.

I really enjoyed this police procedural that investigated the cold case of 14 year old Aurora Jackson who went camping in the summer of 1983 and never came home.
This book reminded me of All the Missing Girls but, for me, was so much better, the story was cohesive and kept you guessing, revealing snippets of information about different characters along side chapters set in the past to show what had happened.
This is not a fast paced thriller, it is so much better! It is methodical, clearly thought out and detailed, it slowly walks you through the unravelling of clues and characters. I loved the writing an it still had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know who had done it.
I cant wait to see what the characters are up against in the next book in the series.

The perfect rom-com novel!
I found that this book had everything I wanted from this type of book. It was like an ultimate ice cream sundae, layers of laugh out loud moments, frustration and sadness, sprinkled with with bits that make me smirk, all topped with some saucy steaminess! All together is was the perfect blend.
This is the second in this series (could definitely be read as a stand alone but it would just make you want get the first one anyway as it’s so good) so I went in with high hopes and it did not disappoint and I will definitely be any future books by this author.

This is an enchanting and modern re-telling of a Christmas Carol which I thoroughly enjoyed. It is the perfect seasonal romance. The book isn’t about Christmas so could easily be read at any time of year but, the majority of the events happen around Christmas, so it gives you that warm happy feeling to read it at that time of year.
I was annoyed by the main character to begin with, he was whinny and selfish but upon finishing the book you know that’s how he needed to be written for this plot to work. I also enjoyed this was written from the male perspective as it is keeping with the classic and so many romances are from the woman’s viewpoint.
It is beautiful story that shows us that our memories are completely subjective to the emotions we are feeling at the time and reminds us that we need to apricate what we have instead of taking it for granted.
I will be buying this for my friends to read next December.
Thank you to HQ and netgalley for my advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

If you want a great throw back to your teenage years or something to get your daughter then this is perfect. Its witty, full of heart and on point.
It really reminded me of Angus, thongs and full frontal snogging (there was even mention of a cat named Angus and one of her friends had an older sister called Jas..) but had the addition of google searches/results and social media posts. I laughed every few pages, even at 30 I could still relate to some of the issues raised.
Her feelings about reading her mums back catalogues of Jilly Cooper at the age of 12 and on yoga videos really matched my own views …
‘This mornings yoga Video has a handy bit of meditation at the end. Frankly though I’m finding the yoga lady’s soothing voice is:
Making me angry
Filling me with hatred
Making me fear for my sanity’
The book also tackles the very real struggle that teenage girls face with anxiety which I thought was brilliant.
I really hope that this is made into a series as I would love to follow the girls as they grow!

Three wives. One man. You know can work out where this is going… oh no you can’t!
I am not sure if I just listened to an audio book* or had some weird trippy high! Seriously what a ride, this book drew me in and then threw me every which way. I like to think I am quite good at working out where a story is going but at no point during this book could I tell you, with any degree of certainly, where this was going.
The writing was good and it flowed really well, letting you get comfy with an idea of where it was going before pulling the rug from under your feet.
This is going up there as one of my top psychological thrillers of all time, it’s just absolutely mental!
*The narrator did have a slow, drawn out voice (which reminded me of a desperate housewives character) so it needed speeding up to 2.0 speed.
