I’ve read books 3 and 4 of this series and really enjoyed them but I struggled with this one. I found it slow going and it was a bit of a chore to finish it. I love Gina’s character but there was a lot of filler about Gina’s relationship with her mum and her past. I didn’t find any of Susan’s family particularly likeable which made caring about their story difficult. We also don’t really get to know Susan which meant I wasn’t overly bothered about whether she was a victim or a killer.
That being said I will still be reading books 1 and 2 when I have time. I will also definitely pick up any future books in the series because I love the main characters and I’ve enjoyed the previous books.

Millie’s body is found in London after her and her new billionaire husband, Oscar, were kidnapped on their honeymoon in Turkey. The discovery throws up more questions than answers with the main one being where the hell is Oscar? DS Moomy Khan and DI Sarah Heaton are battling their own problems whilst trying to get to the bottom of the kidnap/murder. The Hayats have many enemies so where do they start?
I thought this book sounded intriguing but to be honest I found the case quite boring. The rivalries and potential suspects didn’t have me gripped and I wasn’t even that bothered about finding out who was responsible. I mainly carried on reading to learn more about Moomy and Sarah. They were interesting characters and learning about their lives was more interesting than the who dunnit.
This is the first book in a new series and I would be tempted to read the next one purely to read more of Moomy and Sarah and get to know them more. I also want to know more about Sarah’s sister.

I absolutely adore this series. The Josie Quinn series is one of my all time favourite crime series. The main characters are all so lovable and I love the chemistry between them all. It was great getting to learn more about Trinity and how Josie’s past also affected Trinity and her childhood.
I dropped a star purely because I’m not a massive fan of the mental health cliche used but I do really enjoy Lisa Regan’s writing style. Find Her Alive kept me hooked and I honestly did not have a clue whether Trinity would be found alive or dead. This can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading the whole story because 1. it is amazing and 2. you have a better understanding of why this is such a tough case for Josie.

I struggled with this one. Parts of it were just slow and longwinded which made it hard to keep my brain engaged. I really liked Dan and Lexi’s characters but I found their chemistry a bit forced. Also how many times do you have to mention that Dan likes drinking Stella?
On the plus side the murders were gruesome and piqued my interest. I was constantly kept guessing and spent a lot of time trying to work out who the red herrings were. I didn’t guess the murderer but I was a bit underwhelmed at the reveal. It felt like there hadn’t really been much to make us consider that person. At least it was a surprise though. I also found the motive behind the murders pretty scary. The whole misogyny and toxic masculinity adds a very real element to it and the chat room parts just cemented that for me.
I would definitely read the next instalment as I would love to know more about Dan and Lexi.

I really enjoy Caroline Mitchell’s work and this book was no exception. This isn’t like any book I’ve read before. It’s super dark and twisty and I had no idea how it was going to end. It’s an intense read.
Roz is extremely lovable and you just want her to be safe but the celeb couple now keeping her captive are so difficult to work out. It’s quite the ride

This book was a bit of a slow burner at the start but once it got going it was so good. The suspense was next level. I had no idea what was going to happen and how or if they were going to get out of the mess they were in. Jodie was my favourite and such a badass character. I loved that she was totally human in her reactions to everything. In fact all the characters worked so well with the story.
Beyond Fear is such a good thriller. It had me hooked with no idea how it would end. Definitely got some Scream vibes from it which is one of my favourite horror films.

I wasn’t sure about Megan to start with but she grew on me. She’s very human which makes a change from a lot of the super cops out there. She struggles with panic attacks after her years undercover and is trying to get to grips with being back as a detective. Her team are super supportive and her family are adorable.
I did find the flow a bit disjointed and the ending was wrapped up super quick. However, the two cases were both intriguing. A lot of the characters weren’t particularly likeable which added to the suspicion, although I did guess who it was. There were still a few surprises though. I’d definitely be interested to read more in this series

I love the Helen Grace series. Honestly, if you haven’t read it yet you are in for a treat. 9 books with great characters and gory murders to get stuck into. Definitely recommend reading them in order but this does work as a stand-alone. The short gripping chapters make this easy to read and impossible to put down. M.J Arlidge really knows how to write a good murder.
As the murders unfold we get to find out more about what happened all those years ago and why this group of people are being targeted again. I had my suspicions about the bad guy but I wasn’t expecting the ending (especially the tad over the top stunts). I loved getting to know more about Charlie and Helen’s personal lives and it was interesting to see Helen grow. I can’t wait to see what happens with the work/relationship drama.

Oh my god, this book. I thought the first book was good but this was next level. Such a good series. It’s dark and terrifying because it’s a very real fear for women all over the world. Parts of it definitely made me cry.
I love Alyssa and the fact that she’s a policewoman who has a stable loving home life and her job doesn’t ruin that. I also like that we get to know her and her family more with each book (especially as she’s always personally involved).
There was so much tension in this book. We switch between Alyssa, her daughter and the missing girls so you get the story from multiple perspectives and it really works. You get to see how everyone is affected. I started getting suspicious about a certain character but I was not expecting the ending. I just couldn't put this book down. I didn't move all day because I had to know what happened and if what had happened to the girls would be discovered.
Highly recommend checking this out.

This is book 3 in the Rachel Hart series. I haven’t read any of the previous books but I will definitely be picking them up now. Rachels character isn’t as immediately lovable as some but she really grew on me and I was definitely rooting for her.
I had my suspicions about certain characters but the ending was so much more dramatic than I expected. I genuinely didn’t know where the story was going and who could be trusted. It definitely had me hooked.
