This is the first book I’ve read in this series and it works fine as a standalone. It’s an ok read. It felt like a bit of a slog to get through and then the ending was very rushed. I worked out the twist pretty early on and there was nothing extra. I also couldn’t really work out Kate and Tristans relationship.
