An Alaskan town named Moose Springs, an adorable blind dog, a moose in love with a truck and a sexy albeit surly diner owner who despises tourists until the day one walks in that he just can’t seem to get out of his mind.
This was a sweet and hilarious romcom! I binged it in a few hours yesterday. I love a book set in Alaska - it’s on my bucket list of places I want to see just like the main character in this book, Zoey. I loved how awe struck she was by everything she saw and experienced, even when things seemed to go horribly wrong at every turn. She had such a great personality. Her bright, bubbly affect was infectious. So much so that even the grumpy owner of the The Tourist Trap diner who hates tourists wasn’t immune.
Zoey & Graham were so much fun, I had a smile on my face pretty much the entire time I read this book. They had so many laugh out loud moments from a stint in a holding cell thanks to a chainsaw and a kick in the balls to puke and a near death experience. Plus, Graham has the cutest blind dog and a moose that’s in love with his truck. All this plus a nice simmering angst that kept me happily turning the pages. How can you resist?
I’m so excited for book 2! I loved Graham, Zoey, Jake (the dog), Ulysses (the moose) and all the townsfolk of Moose Springs. I can’t wait to visit with them again!

A witch in hiding forced to marry a witch hunter and live among his band of brothers. What could possibly go wrong?
I finally read this one and I’m so glad I did! I loved it and sped through it, leaving me itching to read book 2.
Lou is fierce, formidable and a witch with heart. I was enamored with her tumultuous relationship with Reid. Two people of seemingly opposing beliefs and ways of life, undeniably drawn to each other.

A harrowing and heartbreaking memoir about life in a survivalist, ultra mormon family.
I binged this audio in the span of hours, unable to stop listening. Tara's childhood was one that I can not comprehend and had trouble imagining as truth. I was enraptured by her disturbing recollections, her feelings and my own reactions to them. This was dually difficult to listen to and yet impossible to put down.
Until the age of 17, Tara Westover never went to school. Her father was convinced that the government was out to get them so his children were homeschooled. The Westover's idea of homeschooling was not traditional by any means. It involved very limited reading and math. Instead the children were taught their father's interpretations of the bible and life lessons on preparing for the End of Days, canning fruit and stewing herbs, salvaging metal in the family junkyard and preparing for an inevitable siege on their property.
Some of Tara's recollections seem wild and outlandish but she does explain that many of her memories come from her own journals which were tainted by her family's actions and views and her family whom always spun tales to suit their own desired outcomes. I definitely had questions and wished some things were explained fully but there is no denying that Tara's childhood was wrought with mental and physical abuse, blatant brainwashing by her father and her continual subjugation by both her father and older brother.
I applaud her desire to be educated and her willingness to go into therapy to explore her beliefs, her upbringing, her family and the chains they formed around her. Overall, a powerful memoir and Tara's formidable journey of being self-taught and overcoming her lack of education, ultimately going on to accomplish great things in academia was definitely inspirational.

All the 80s vibes (ET, Swatch watches, roller rinks, Phil Collins and Madonna, etc.) and an emotional, creepy albeit cheesy exorcism between best friends!
I grew up in the 80s so I always love books that grab hold of that nostalgia. This was chock full of music and movie references and had that kids running dangerously wild & free vibe of all my fave 80s movies but with a spooky twist. I fully expected to love this one and it didn’t disappoint. I read some of the book (just look at the fun vhs reminiscent cover

I started this with the physical book but ended on audio and I highly recommend both versions! The book is so fun - it looks just like an IKEA catalogue. I loved the concept of this book and it ended up being an amazing
A spicy LatinX love story set in the world of Spanish telenovelas that’s a must read for soap opera fans!
This one was steamy, sweet & fun! I grew up watching Spanish telenovelas so this premise was near & dear to my heart. I loved the will-they, won’t-they give in angsty vibes between Jasmine and Ashton, the Spanish infusion and the behind the scenes look at the actors’ lives.
I really enjoyed how it felt like we got two romance stories in one here - the tv plot and the off screen/real life story. It was steamy when the two worlds collided and I was there for the fireworks!
I listened to the audiobook for this one and the narration was great! Loved this Spanish romcom and look forward to seeing what’s next from author Alexis Daria.

Paper thin walls and a sexy neighbor with numerous nighttime escapades makes for lots of tension, angst and hilarious one liners!
This book made me laugh - it was just so much fun to read. It’s funny, sexy, crude at times and doesn’t take itself too seriously which is just what I need every now and then.
Surprisingly the steam here doesn’t come until the end but once it arrived - it arrived & arrived and arrived!

This book is like a buffet meal, it has a little bit of everything - mystery with paranormal elements, mental illness and family drama!
I love stories with ghosts so this book immediately intrigued me. It ended up being about much more than I expected. It was part murder mystery with a sprinkling of the paranormal but it’s really about grief, family and mental illness. It was honest, real and thought-provoking.
This book was a slow burn but the audio had me entranced. I never found it boring. The mystery aspect was interesting but it was the focus on mental illness, specifically schizophrenia that really caught my attention. The ghosts and how their stories were woven in to the story and Caden’s own struggles with mental health was riveting. I actually wanted more at the end.
I’m glad I gave this one a try. It’s hard to pigeon hole it in one specific genre but if you enjoy mysteries with paranormal elements that focus on family drama then this one is for you! I thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook version.

Unfortunately, I figured out where the plot was headed early on and although the book was sprinkled with red herrings, I never bought into them so the big twist that has gotten so much buzz was a letdown for me.
The premise is definitely intriguing - Alicia is charged with shooting her husband in the face, 5 times! Alicia refuses to talk, or give any kind of explanation about what happened that night. She is hidden away at a secure forensic unit in North London where she spends her days medicated and silent. Theo Faber is a criminal psychotherapist who is determined to get her to talk. Will she?
Many have loved this one and I thought it was a solid debut but I wasn't wowed by the twist and I honestly didn't care much about any of the characters or what their motivations were which definitely affected my overall enjoyment of the book.
