Cash Griffin, ex-Marine, may be part owner of Vets on the Move, but all he wants is to be one of the team. Cash wants to keep his head down and work, trying to figure out his place in life now that his military career is over, now that his mother is dead, now that his little brother and roommate has found love. Even if one of his team, Jordan Fleming, ex-Army MP both gets on his nerves and thrills his blood. But trouble keeps seeming to find Cash.

Jordan too can't help but be attracted to the giant, grumpy man but she also has her own problems, namely her little brother who is headed down the wrong path and is on the verge of being sent away to military school. But, maybe with Cash's help she can set him straight.

But as these two work together, they find they may be perfect for each other.

Unfortunately for me there was just way to much going on in this romance, distracting from the actual romance itself. Between the dead mother drama, who's my dad, the gang violence, drug selling, etc. etc. I really just wanted to hone in on Cash and Jordan.

I received a free copy in exchange for a fair review.

This book. Phew. It does it for me, and it makes me kind of feel like WHY does this do it for me? Yeesh. Doesn't matter. It is hot hot hot.

Content warnings galore and unfortunately the Latinx rep is bad. Really bad.

At the suggestion of some amazing and trusted leaders in the romance community I finally jumped in to Kristen Callihan's VIP series.

Every book in this series is just so good!
I'm about 1/2 way through FALL and John and Stella are about to cuddle and watch LOTR. *swoon*

I adore how many quiet moments are in this series. John may be a rock star but he's also so very human, fragile, and lonely like us all. And Stella, oh Stella, I want to wrap her up with a blanket and cuddle too.

I've been feeling really lonely lately and also am struggling with anxiety, and this story makes me feel seen.

FIRST LISTEN

So, if you can handle it, I highly recommend enjoying the Queen of Dirty Talk's work on audio. Basically Tessa Bailey's books were meant to be listened to. My face may never stop getting red and I may fear being overheard if my headphones are not completely plugged in, but it is worth every single moment.

I just love this story of the perennial "little sister" and actual clown of the town asserting herself, both in her career and in her love life. Watching the hulking, grumpy, and grunty Travis Ford be brought to his knees by this tiny sunflower made my summer.

Besides the hot romance, I also have to commend the portrayal of female friendship in this novel. Georgie, her sister Beth, and their friend Rosie come together to help each other realize their goals, whatever they may be.

Tessa Bailey's work makes both my heart and my loins sing.

FIRST READ
I've been waiting for the perfect moment to read the ARC of Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey, and there was no better way to honor a fav than by making it my first read of 2019!

No way I'd rather kick-off my reading year than with this gem by one of my favorite authors!

I'm already in love with Georgie, the town clown and sister no one takes seriously, and how she's bringing the man she's always loved to his knees. Go girl! Funny and oh so hot 🔥

I kind of love that the cartoon cover is a bit twee and hides a seriously erotic story. Georgie is a virgin but quickly figures out grumpy and gruff Travis's form of rough is exactly what she likes and needs.

A perfect combination of heat, swoon, and small-town feels for those looking for their next read after The Kiss Quotient or My Favorite Half-Night Stand. Avon is on to something good here.

Thank you to the publisher for the ARC.

Elia Winters is my new go-to for delicious, erotic, and emotional romance stories. I love the way she explores the boundaries of relationships, using both sex and love. Definitely a must have for modern collections.

Yesterday I led a discussion of ARISTOTLE AND DANTE DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE while my book Club patrons created decoupage secret boxes.

If you're looking for a great way to spark conversation and creativity, I highly recommend adding a simple craft prompt to your book club.
I encourage everyone to put their own spin on their project and also to not worry about the end product, just enjoy the process

As for the story, I loved how deeply introspective it was. It is a quiet story, mostly of Ari's thoughts. While it is quiet, it is at times traumatic, scary, and sad. The writing is beautifully lyrical.

The final few chapters felt a bit rushed and I really wanted an epilogue showing where Ari and Dante were in their lives.

Great choice for a book club.

Question. How did y'all read this before the entire series was published?! HOW? How did you not lose your mind?! THAT ENDING.

Never have a wanted to smack and boff a man as much as I've wanted to do so to Mad Rogan. Holy forking shirtballs Batman!

Nevada Baylor and her entire family are flippin' fantastic. The world building is amazing. The HEAT between Rogan and Baylor? I'm dead.

I think there are plenty of other reviews out there of this series, so I'll just leave this here so I can get going on White Hot. K bye.

So basically I should have read these ages ago and I'm so glad I finally did. I think I love White Hot even more than Burn for Me, because well, there is just that much more Nevada and Rogan together. I don't think I can review any better than what has already been put out there, so here are some of my favorite quotes (spoilery, so avoid if you haven't read yet):

"Marry him we need college money"

"It doesn't matter if I'm the first. It only matters that I'll be the last."
-Rogan

"I still need a dress."
"I'll handle the dress," Rogan said.
"No," I told him firmly. "You'll give me money and I'll buy my own dress."

Nevada is my favorite, so is Rogan, and wow, sex with an empath sounds, um, very nice.

audiobook listen 2021 - love the narrator, Andrews dialogue chops works so well with an audiobook. The slow-burn KILLED me in the best way. Rogan and Nevada are so dang hot. Also, the part where he helicopters in to sweep her away from everything? How do I sign up for that? Really loved the introduction of the animal mage, the ferrets, all of it.

Again, I absolutely adored this series and cannot believe it took me so long to start it. This isn't a review, this is a general SQUEEEEEEEE, so stop here if you haven't read.

Still with me?!

Connor and Nevada. My gosh. I loved every minute of watching these two fall in love. Also, the trope with the "ex-fiancee" is one I usually detest, but I loved how the author handled it, using it to show how much Nevada and Rogan trusted each other and talked to one another. And especially for Nevada giving Rogan the business.

Also, please and thank you to helicoptering me away to a mountain escape. That can happen anytime.

SERGEANT TEDDY OMG.

2021 : The audiobook experience was so great, and I just love this cast of characters so much. Grandma Frida is such a star. I loved the exploration of all of the different types of magic and magic users. Cornelius is a babe, I hope he finds someone to help with Matilda someday, and I cannot wait to see what shapes up for Catalina. Rogan and Neveda, still my favorites. When he proposed?! Damn.

This book is AMAZING. I loved every minute of reading Hannah and Jack's story.

NOT THE GIRL YOU MARRY is a perfect contemporary romance. It will make you laugh and swoon and maybe even get a little weepy.

Hannah is a heroine for the ages, prickly, real, and worth fighting for. If only we could all have a Hannah in our corner.
