Nope. Not for me. I wasn't connecting with the asshole American guy who likes to f* African prostitutes of dubious age plot points, and didn't feel like I even understood where this was going after about 25% in.

I just wasn't compelled to finish this one. Seriously, how many uber famous people past lives can one person have? Also, I did not feel the "passion" between the two main characters.

I'd much rather hear Alan Cumming read ACTUAL Macbeth, not this narrative version. So, I think I'll do that.

This will be obviously popular with YA readers. This said, I wasn't compelled to finish. I really enjoyed the chapters from Elias' point of view but found Scholar Laia's chapters a bit of a horrific drag. Why there is a huge need for the two main characters to be love interests is getting exhausting for me, especially when there was such a huge power disparity between them. The relationship struggle between Elias and his best friend Helene made sense, but seriously, who is thinking about how sexy it is for someone's body to be pressed up against you when you are battling for your life?

We'll see if I re-pick this up after the series is complete. Instead of this, try the Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski.

Basically a love letter to Outlander, and not as good. Nathaniel is fairly unlikable and I thought it was ridiculous how fast (instantly) these two "fell in love." Also, the dialect was annoying - so many "aint's" - and it didn't sweep me away to the time period.

THEN she had to go and actually name Outlander characters as a plot point (Claire, Jamie, and Ian), which was the death knell for me. Slightly spoiled me as well for Outlander since this book takes place a fair amount of time after the last Outlander book I read (BOSAA) Dammit.

Too "insta-love" for me.

Read one chapter and wasn't really swept away into the story. The film comes out this Thursday, so I'm just going to put this aside and have a fresh mind.

Alas, I'm leaving this one behind. I tried both the audio and print version and I kept setting it aside for other books, so onward and upward.

Beautiful setting and mythology, but the multiple first person POVs and the frantic pacing didn't work for me.

A delightfully naughty romance featuring a virgin witch, a "cock-blocking" demon, and a long-term couple, a vampire and a werewolf, who are more than happy to add a third to their already hot as all get out relationship. Especially if it means their sexual prowess can help banish the witch's demon forever.

I read about half of this story. I did not look up any reviews before starting but I typically enjoy a "marriage in trouble" romance so I jumped in.

While excellently written I personally had an issue wanting to keep reading because of the lingering grief issues and relationship problems the couple have because of Mila's miscarriage when she was in her six month of pregnancy. Both sets of their parents are also dead, one of the parents from cancer, and Mila struggles with what seems to me to be PTSD. She fell walking down stairs which led to her miscarriage.
