I have tried many times to get into poetry, but each time I've tried I just found myself bored and eventually thought that poetry just wasn't for me. but after hearing such praise for this book, I decided to give it one more try.
There were a few poems that touched out sensitive subjects and at times reading them did make me feel uncomfortable, but my the end I felt stronger with myself and how I feel towards myself.

I will admit that I didn't love all of the poems but there were at least 14 that I loved so much that I took note of the page numbers. Reading this has actually opened my mind to poetry again and I think I just need to find the right ones to read.

Actual rating is 4.5
I'm a huge fan of fairy tale retellings and I have wanted to read Cinder for a while, but even then the first time I tried I couldn't get into the story, I think I was in midst of a reading slump a the time, so I put it down. A year later I finally decided to give it another go and DAMN am I happy I did!
The characters! The Story! The Sass! WOAH!
I was drawn into the story and loved the fact it was set in the future. The characters were probably the best part, each one was well developed and it didn't take me long to start calling them my babies.
I also want to mention how much I loved Cinder and her sass! she was constantly talking to herself, which is something I myself do, and I loved how her character developed.

The only reason this book didn't get 5 stars from me was because I felt there was a lot of story crammed into the book and it felt rushed at certain times, that being said I am so excited to start reading Scarlet and continue on with this story, I have fallen into this story and I don't want to get out!

How is it possible to like the second book in a series more than the first?
This book has officially moved this series to my favourites stack, and I know I should wait until I read the whole series to make me final decision, but SHH! I'm gushing and I'll do what I want.

There was so much action in this book, it was fast paced and at one point I got so involved in the story that I threw the book onto the floor in a fit of rage at something a character did. (the floor was carpeted, the book is fine.)

I LOVED the new characters, Marissa is pretty much a character writing goddess, because it took me 0.2 seconds to fall in love with Thorne. He was so funny and such a ladies man, at times I found myself rolling my eyes at things he said, all I want is for him to be safe and happy!
Also can we all take a moment to laugh at how much he loves his ship?

I again loved Wolf and yes I'll admit I have a thing for 'bad boys', but he is just so precious, sweet and could rip your throat out... I mean his cute.
I had my moments where I wasn't too crazy about Scarlet but all in all she is strong, smart and I'm hoping to see more character development as I read on.
Also... I totally ship Wolf and Scarlet, I know many people don't but I just feel the weird connection there.

I am so excited to start Cress and keep going with this series! It's slowly becoming one of my favourites.

My heart!! This book has become everything to me, can I give it more than 5 stars?! PLEASE!!

I didn't know this series could get better but somehow Marissa managed to do it and I have found myself falling more in love with this series than I already was.

I love Cress, she is so pure and all I want to do is wrap her up in blankets and protect her from the world. I also love the relationship between her and Thorne, I hadn't even finished the book and I was shipping them so hard, and even though there seems like there is something there, someone just hasn't gotten the memo that they belong together... I'm looking at you Captain!

I will ship them until I die... which might be soon, as I'm sure my heart is about to explode from how adorable they are!

All my favourite characters got major development, well all of them except Scarlet, who was gone for most of the book and that upset me. sure we got a bit of action from her but not nearly enough as I wanted, but with the last book being 827 pages, I'm sure I'll get the character development I want.

I love the development of the story and I am so excited to get to the last book, Winter, and see how the story will end and what will happen to all the characters I love.
I'm really looking forward to learning more about Winter and see what her backstory is and how she will fit into the story.

I have no idea if I should like this book as much as I did!
I have always had such a dislike for Levana and this book really didn't change that, but it gave me a look into why she is the way she is.

I developed mixed feeling for her, I both felt such pity for her and at the same a pure hatred.
I love hearing back stories for villains and normally they give a logical explanation as to why the villain went down this path, but for Levana, there was no reason, she was just a terrible person, like her sister, and her parents!

The relationship was the worst! I felt so creeped out with how Levana pretty much forced Evret to have feelings for her and even then it was never real. There were so many times I was saying "Damn Levana play it cool girl!" but, no that wouldn't have even helped.

I don't think I can properly get out my full feelings, all I know is that I understand why people want to get her off the throne.

Full review to come

This book absolutely wrecked me, I have never cried while reading a Graphic Novel before (I don't think... I cry a lot) but this story broke my heart while at the same time gave me the shivers from how creepy I found it.

I am looking forward to working on my review for this! I have a lot of feelings to get out.

“And they all lived happily to the end of their days.”
Those final words killed me! I'm so damn happy I'm crying!!!

This series was so unexpected, I thought i'd like it, but that like turned into love and now I can't imagine not having read it.

There was so much action crammed into the pages of this book and I was beyond excited to get to see the whole of Lunar. I did get some Hunger Games vibes, but that feeling vanished once I fully got into the story. This book is a must read for YA lovers.

I dont even know if this is making sense, I'm just so happy with the ending and how every character found their place and they all will hopefully find their happily ever afters. I don't want to say much more because of spoilers so I guess you will have to wait until I write my full review on my blog. (where I will pretty much fangirl about everything.)

I'm so happy I still have Stars Above left to read, because I am no way near ready to leave this world or leave these characters, so this isn't the end. (If I keep telling myself that I won't get upset)

Reading isn’t just following a sentence straight forward, but can be a stutter, stopping to muse, then starting again, following stories past the pages.

I received this book in the December YA Chronicles box the theme being Simply Wonderful. Now I wouldn’t normally pick a book like this myself to read as I tend to choose books I know I will like. But the idea of bookish boxes are to expand your reading with different books and after reading the letter from the team at The YA Chronicles about Finding Wonders I was excited to give it a read.
The first thing I noticed when I opened this book was that it was all written in verse. This was really interesting, I had never read a book set out this way but found really easy and smooth to read.
Finding Wonders is the story of three girls who changed science in a time when girls were restricted from learning. Maria Merian, Mary Anning and Maria Mitchell all pursued their passions and in doing so left their own personal marks on science.

Maria Merian was born in 1647, she grew up in a time when few dared to use science and focused on superstitions. Maria saw past these stories and became one of the first people to understand the metamorphosis of caterpillars.

After reading about Maria I went online and continued reading about this amazing women who after a lot of controversy in her life still created amazing art. Seriously guys go look at her paintings, they are amazing!

Mary Anning was born in 1799, she grew up a century after Maria Merian when science was finally gaining ground. Mary discovered patterns in stones as well as fossils that she would sell to wealth scholars to feed and care for her family.
Mary’s life was full of loss but after some time she lived a comfortable life discovering fossils and became someone scholars would seek out for assistance in research. Even after having to leave schooling at a young age, Mary grew to read complicated reports and became an amazing woman.
Maria Mitchell (pronounced ma- rye- ah) was born in 1818, she grew up assisting her father in making star charts that helped sailors and travelers travel the sea safely. As she grew up she was trusted by her father to take on more serious rolls such as adjusting chronometers, which if were even slightly off would cause ships to get lost at sea.

Maria taught herself mathematics to help further her understanding of the night sky, she was also the one to discover Comet 1847 VI which is also known as Miss Mitchell’s comet.

I loved the writing style and learned so much about these amazing women. I found myself inspired by reading about the lives these women and what they went through to peruse things they loved. Now days women have more freedom (in some cultures this is still not the case) and to read about the superstition preventing them from learning of doing certain things really interested me.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes science, girl power and is after an easy but interesting read. I would even recommend just taking the names of these women, putting it in Google and reading about them, they contributed some amazing things to science and their stories are inspiring.

Happy reading everyone!
