Hm! Not what I expected for sure. The characters in this book are for sure messy, flawed for sure. I wish more focus was on the podcast since the description sold it as a big part. The mystery was fun, but it felt like it fizzled out toward the end. Not a bad read by any means, just expected more.

This is not quite what I thought it would be! Much more of a memoir than a history of queer spaces. I did, however, enjoy the stories told my the author. Raw, gritty, real, and super informative.

This was just not for me unfortunately! Sci-fi and short stories aren’t usually what I reach for. Would still give the world to Janelle Monáe though.

A simple yet very sweet story about a young girl coming to terms with her gender! What an amazing book to have exist today. Easy to follow along.

What a fun romp of a story! Loved the characters. Wish the romance had been developed a bit more. The pig fantasy was silly and cute.

A harrowing graphic memoir about a part of American history that is often overlooked. George Takei’s life story is heartbreaking and inspiring on so many levels. I’m glad that this exists.

I don’t think this one is for me! I didn’t really understand the story, it seemed very complex, but I can see many people liking this! Plus the art style is STUNNING.

This is one of the best graphic memoirs I’ve ever read! The author used the medium to convey her story and message across SO well. The art style was a great juxtaposition to the dark subject matter. I wish the psychology information was spread throughout the book, instead of at the end though. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about toxic relationships and the psychology behind it!

This was FASCINATING. I’ve never read a wordless graphic novel, and it really worked here. I “read” it a couple times and picked up new things each time.

Uff, this was a real slog to get through. I really admire the author’s courage to tell her story and everything she has been through, but I don’t think it was accomplished well in graphic novel format. I had a card time connecting to the story, which may just be because I can’t relate to what the author has gone through. Just felt like more of a slog to get through than anything.
