informative mysterious reflective fast-paced

Fun, quick, and informative guide to many subjects within science, not just space! I especially enjoyed the moments that tied in pop culture and sci-fi.

This is one of the most unique and hard to place books I’ve ever read! Part memoir, cookbook, personal essays, self help, science, it’s hard to place it. Ruby’s voice is kind and informative, and I wish more hooks were written like this! With the varied subjects and genres it can feel a bit all over the place, but I was able to find the connections.

Do not read on an empty stomach. Time to make a delicious meal.

This is just as fun as I remembered from my childhood! Well written for how short it is. Ends rather abruptly, but looking forward to reading the sequels!

This was a fun take on an adult romance! I liked that it diverted from some of the more typical tropes of the genre, in a way that made it exciting and fun to read. Some plot moments got me gasping! Would make for a really fun mini series I think.

Firstly, this is probably the most beautifully illustrated graphic novel I have ever read, so stunning. This book is undeniably queer, and I just loved that. Felt very authentic to the character's age. I wish it was longer so we could get some more backstory of this fascinating universe!

First half: two stars
Second half: three stars

This was quite the whirlwind of the story, some aspects that I like included the diversity, the mental health rep, the behind the scenes look of journalism,  and the well written banter between characters.

Some things that didn’t work for me was the pacing, I felt that even though we were going on a multi city adventure, it all kind of blurred together.

Also the story arch of
the main character not getting into college was all but wrapped up in like a paragraph which was kind of confusing.

Could totally see a huge number of people loving this story, just wasn’t for me unfortunately.

Eh??? I respect the author’s journey, but it reeked of privilege. Writing was great, but I was just pretty bored throughout.

Pretty good and informative! I really liked the beginning and end parts, I found the middle kind of easy to zone out in. Could have maybe been like a third shorter.

I liked this one! Really enjoyed that the author wasn’t afraid to make a dark middle grade book, quick read but really engaging.

What a fun summer read! Really enjoyed that that the story didn’t fall specially on the romance. The family drama felt realistic and emotional. Excited to read Henry’s earlier novels!
