EhhhhHHhhhH, I should have put this one down after the first few chapters, but decided to give it a chance. The writing was good, but I just really didn't care about the characters, the story, or much of the plot. My fave parts were the octopus chapters, that should have been the perspective the entire story

What a fun and adventurous story! With all graphic novels, I wish it was longer so the characters had more time to develop. I could see this making a great animated series. I don't see a second book in this series which is a bummer!

A nice quick overview of hippie fashion and it’s history! The pictures were gorgeous. Wish there was a little more context about the time period.

Well, this was certainly the darkest book in the Hatchet series. It was super exciting for sure, but I wish we had more build up, didn’t really understand why Brian needed to be out in the forest. This book also does a lot of telling not showing towards the end which I didn’t love. Overall, happy to have read all the books in the series! Middle grade is great for some easy reading.

Meh, this really dropped the ball on the Hatchet series. Didn’t really care about this new journey since the stakes were so low. Audiobook narration is top notch as always.

Another great installment in the Hatchet series! Honestly, this should have been book number two, and I appreciate the fact that the author listened to his readers and presented an alternative ending! As always, the audiobook narration was excellent.
Moderate: Animal death, Gore
I could tell from the start this wasn’t for
me, I’ve never related to characters less. They’re in their forties, upperclass, and one is a creepy fan? I’m good on this one.

Fun reread from my childhood. For sure not as good as the first, but still a fun adventure. Doesn’t hit the same as an adult, but any outdoorsie young reader would love this. Also, the audiobook is SO good, loved the added music/sounds they added.

What a TRIP. I really enjoy Rachel Lynn Solomon YA books, and this one was for sure worth the read. For the book being as long as it is, it didn’t feel too long by any means. This is for sure a reimagined “Groundhog Day”, but that didn’t distract from this being a unique story.
