Orphans running amok, shifters everywhere, and a teddy bear doctor just moved into town. The story follows Lila Kai who has just moved into town when she hits a wolf with her car and stumbles upon a cub turned into crying girl. She immediately goes out of her way to help the girl. Then we have Oz, a “accountant” of sorts who is a wolf shifter and is responsible for rescuing and being part of the “social services” for shifter orphans. He gets hit by Lila Kai’s car and is immediately drawn to her. Thus begins the story about orphan shifter shenanigans and two people helping these kids and a bunch of other things.
A Pan and Echo myths inspired story about a girl who finds herself being blackmailed by her ex’s brother after kissing him mistaking him for someone else... and this musically gifted but definitely unhinged guy will do whatever it takes to keep her. Violet has a lot riding on her, from constantly trying to clear her father’s debts that he placed in her name, at risk of not only her family being killed or worse, and the guilt that she has from her estranged step brother who is deadly himself. Violet is spiraling from one job to the next, just trying to get by, and after her ex Nate dumps her after finding out who her brother is, she is determined to win him back at a gala she heard he’d be at.... except she runs into someone she never expected.... Grayson. Grayson is the youngest of the James boys and is the brother of Nate. Grayson was a professor of musical composition until his star pupil died and he blames his twisted family, and especially his brother for her death. He is haunted by her, he can’t write, he can’t do anything with music, and with his reputation and career riding on it... he’s going mad. It doesn’t help that from the moment he laid eyes on Violet with Nate he has decided that she is the perfect way to get back at his brother and family... yet what he never expects is that she has become his muse and he isn’t ready to give her up to anyone. Grayson wants revenge, and he plans on trapping Violet with him in his secluded estate until he is ready to reveal her off to his brother... but the more time he spends with her the more he finds he wouldn’t mind if she ruined everything, in fact, he’d ruin everyone if she asked... but can they work out this complicated relationship between them or are their twisted families going to destroy them? This is the last and finale book of the Monster & Muses series and OH MY GOSH I LOVED IT. I absolutely adored how unhinged Grayson was when it came to Violet, man had it bad for her. I loved how both Violet and Grayson had their own issues, both wanting to work out their own plans and lives, yet when they’re together , the chemistry is off the charts and they can’t help but want to help the other. Gosh their romance was so good, and I loved seeing just how obsessed Grayson was with Violet. Violet is trying to just shoulder the world on her and Grayson is so wrapped up in his revenge, yet together they’re perfect for one another, she’s the muse he’s been looking for and he’s the monster who will take care of her unlike anyone else has ever done for her. This was such a fantastic read and I can’t wait to see what Sav R. Miller has in store next!!!

An absolutely darling story! I adored the artwork so much and found it to be charming. The story about the little ghost and accepting his flaws was great and a great message for kids. I definitely would recommend this story.
A sound director and her best friend/childhood crush who is a washed up actor find themselves fighting for their lives as a they are faced with a deadly curse, Nazi occultists, and ghosts. Montserrat is a talented editor who is constantly overlooked at her job... and by her best friend Tristán, a charming faded soap opera star whom she’s been in love with since she was a child. Tristán discovers that his new neighbor is a cult horror movie director by the name of Abel Ureta who is famous for the last movie he was in... that was cursed. According to Abel, everyone in that movie was cursed with bad luck and death, Nazi occultists imbued magic into highly volatile silver nitrate stock and the magic film was never finished and since it wasn’t finished Abel swears he is cursed. Abel wants Montserrat and Tristán to help him shoot the missing scene and lift the curse... but Montserrat begins to notice a dark presence following her and Tristán starts seeing the ghost of his exgirlfriend. Now Montserrat and Tristán must find a way to figure out what truly happened to the film and what is behind the curse and how to break it before it’s too late. They’ll find themselves facing off against ghosts, monsters, and even Nazi occultists and cult members, all the while dealing with their own complicated feelings for one another. This was such a fun read, I adored the whole horror movie/mystery element and the way Montserrat and Tristán have such a complicated history with one another, from best friends who are so codependent on one another and the fact that they are exactly perfect for each other. This was a mystery, a horror story, and a bit of a romance story all rolled up into one and I had a blast!

In a world where magic is forbidden a girl trying to appease her mother's cruel whims and protect her blind younger sister all the while keeping her own magical gifts hidden suddenly finds herself on an journey like no other from facing off against monsters, going on dates with a charming man who just happens to be the prince, and finding her own worth. Jin Zhara has had a difficult life, from dealing with the grief of losing her parents to living with an abusive stepmother and working to make ends meet all the while taking cate of a blind younger sister that she might have accidentally blinded when she couldn't control her own magic, did I mention that she has magic that is strictly forbidden from and could have her executed if anyone finds out? The only thing that Zhara does find happiness in is a romance book series that she's been trying to get her hands on. She has a chance encounter with a handsome young man named Han who gets her in contact a secret magical liberation organization called the Guardians of Dawn. Soon Zhara finds herself awakening powers she never knew she had and facing off against demons that have begun plaguing the city. This is the first book in the series. This was a mixture of Cinderella meets Sailor moon and it was a fun read. The romance was cute and both Zhara and Han were an overall cute couple. The magic, demons, and such were a unique part of the story and the conclusion leaves off in a nice way to start the beginning of the second book.

Second chance romance between two exes who were also writing partners as they are forced to pretend to be fake fiancees to save their movie and their Hollywood dreams. Kerri Williams and Jon D'Angelo broke up not only their relationship but their professional partnership. They never thought they'd see each other again or be working together on a movie set again. Kerri is now living in New York and is a teacher and has a fiancee while Jon is an uber driver. Yet when their old script is sold and now they get the chance to make it into a movie they both have to work together, the only issue is that the lead movie star mistakes them as an engaged couple and both of them have to pretend to be to appease her. Yet the more time they spend together the more in love they fall with each other again. This one was a big miss for me, I especially am not a fan of the cheating trope and this book was rife with it. Also I was not invested in Jon and Kerri's relationship at all, all throughout the book you get Jon saying how much he is in love with Kerri but we never know why and then the fact that the story itself was so boring I had to force myself to read it to get to the end. Seriously this one missed the mark completely for me and I adore second chance Christmas romances but definitely not ones with cheating. Kerri also was a pretty bland and unlikable protagonist. If you like second chance romances where one partner is engaged then maybe give this one a go, maybe you'll have a better time with it than I did.
