Spells For Forgetting is an atmospheric mystery perfect for fans of fall and magic. It’s rich with folklore, secrets, and beautiful writing.
After fourteen years, August Salt returns back to the island of Saoirse where he was accused of murder. Emery not only lost her boyfriend August, but her best friend Lily— suspected to have been killed by August. Emery and August slowly unbury town secrets and lies.
This book hooked me within the first paragraph. The writing is gorgeous. I was really invested in all the lies and secrets uncovered throughout the book.
The book is slower paced. The only thing I was not the biggest fan of was the constant POV switches. I found it confusing at times, especially when the book first started out and I wasn’t used to all the characters yet.
Overall this book is fantastic! A perfect read for the upcoming Halloween season. Special thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the E-arc of this book.

This book takes “I see dead people” to a whole new level.
After the sudden death of her on again off again boyfriend Silas, Erin is struck heavily with grief and guilt. When Tobias, one of her friends from college, offers her a way to see Silas again, Erin jumps at the opportunity. There’s a new drug out called Ghost that allows those who take it to commune with the dead. But there’s a catch. You won’t just see the ghost of your loved one. You’ll see every single ghost around you.
I really enjoyed the first half of this book. Some of the creepiest scenes are when Erin is going about her work day and the ghosts are lurking in the background, trying to get her.
The second half was not my favorite, however. It felt drawn out and a bit repetitive. It almost felt like a fever dream.
When focusing on the ghosts themselves, this book is super creepy and can get gory.
Overall, I liked this book. It’s a solid three star read for me. I would definitely recommend it to those who are into the mushroom horror sub genre that is popular right now.
Special thanks to NetGalley for the ARC

Hide by Kiersten White is a rollercoaster of a book, full of suspense and spooks.
Fourteen people accept the challenge of hiding in an abandoned amusement park for a prize of 50,000 dollars. Sounds easy enough right? But when contestants start to disappear, they quickly find out not all is as it seems.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful and kept me guessing for the first half. It's a quick read, one that I finished in less than 24 hours. I was brought back to my early childhood days of Goosebumps and the HorrorLand book. The setting was definitely creepy.
I do feel like the characters lacked a bit of depth. Especially the ones who were "disqualified" rather early on in the book. Even though we caught glimpses inside their heads, their motivations fell a bit flat for me.
Overall, a quick and addictive read perfect for fans of Supernatural and Goosebumps.
