Spells For Forgetting is an atmospheric mystery perfect for fans of fall and magic. It’s rich with folklore, secrets, and beautiful writing.

After fourteen years, August Salt returns back to the island of Saoirse where he was accused of murder. Emery not only lost her boyfriend August, but her best friend Lily— suspected to have been killed by August. Emery and August slowly unbury town secrets and lies.

This book hooked me within the first paragraph. The writing is gorgeous. I was really invested in all the lies and secrets uncovered throughout the book.

The book is slower paced. The only thing I was not the biggest fan of was the constant POV switches. I found it confusing at times, especially when the book first started out and I wasn’t used to all the characters yet.
