I have so many thoughts about this emotional memoir. First, at how aware Jennette McCurdy is. From being blinded by her mother’s abuse for all of her formative years to writing her raw and eye opening story is just incredible. I’m not sure most people realize how their childhood has affected their lives quite like Jennette does. I was really happy to hear about her authentic relationship with therapy.

I also feel a deep sadness when thinking about enjoying shows like iCarly and Victorious. Not that enjoying them was a problem but thinking about people my own age struggling while trying to make us all laugh is heartbreaking. And then to have that show reboot…Jennette obviously made the right decision and I hope she is happy with her choice.

The conversation around narcissistic and abusive parents feels like it is coming to a surface more and more. I think this book could help a lot of young people realize childhood trauma and gives a realist view at how to survive it.

I am a huge audio book fan so this was a must read for me.

To be honest, this was going to be 3.5/5 stars until it came to the author’s note. Whelan talks about her process and why she wrote this book and everything just came together.

I did find this to be incredibly predictable and had times where I was thinking “how could they not have seen that coming?!?”. Also….it really needed more spice in my humble opinion. But the characters were really interesting and funny.

If you pick this up don’t you dare read the physical version and miss out on Julia Whelan’s amazing narrating abilities.

TJR is an amazing story teller and writes fantastic female characters.

After not loving Daisy Jones & The Six I was relieved by how much I liked this. Nothing can touch Evelyn Hugo but this is still a great read that I’d recommend to anyone.

I LOVE the TJR universe and cannot wait for Carrie Soto Is Back. I will read anything TJR writes.

Emily Henry’s writing is just so readable. Gus is definitely my dream guy…I don’t know where to go from here. January was slightly annoying but I loved how she interacted with Gus. Overall, a solid romance that I’d recommend to anyone.

“History, huh?” THIS BOOK. I absolutely loved this. Everything from the sassy dialogue, to the perfect characters, and the amazing email/text chains. And not to mention this book is HILARIOUS!!! The Star Wars references really did it for me - I felt like they were written just for me.

It was like I was put into my dream America. If 2016 had ended differently - I hope it would have looked like this. Politics were handled perfectly imo.

My only complaint is that it felt a little long but since I listen to it, it honestly didn’t phase me.

THEY BETTER NOT MESS UP THIS ADAPTATION.

This was a nice slice of High Fae life that I’m glad was it’s own novel and not a part of another. I read this insanely fast, which was fun.

**spoiler alert** I’m just as surprised as you are. I found this so boring. The characters just did not do it for me. It turned around a little for me once I knew Julie was the interviewer and from there to the end I enjoyed it. However, that was about the last 5% of the book. I wanted to like this so bad but I just did not care.
