Jim & Kate's dialogue is always fun. I like that these short stories are told from his POV, it gives us a bit of a look on ~the other side~.

There's so much food in such a tiny tale. Kate is a woman who knows what she likes - and what she likes is a lot of delicious goodies (cheeseburgers, steaks, pie, etc.) It didn't help that I was smelling the chicken soup I've been making all afternoon while reading this!

Favorite quote:
“You’re a witch, aren’t you,” he said two days later. “Go ahead, you can say it, I won’t tell. I may personally burn you at the stake, but I won’t tell.”

Boys are dumb.

I do dearly love the Sookie Stackhouse universe, so I was very excited to find a bunch of short stories I hadn't read yet today. :)

A short story about Sean and Layla O'Rourke was such a surprise (they only got a bit part in All Together Dead) but a very welcome one. So enjoyable.

Except for the bit with Martha. I cried over a fictional kitty and I'm not ashamed.

No, but seriously. Sookie is so clever when she needs to be. She's constantly underestimated, even by her closest friends.

Eh, Amelia is not one of my favorite supporting characters, though she is amusingly realistic in her flaws.

This is the second time that a man has seduced Sookie on someone else's word. I find that inordinately creepy, Ms. Harris.

Pam and Sookie together are always fun. I wouldn't have minded if the whole Sookie series was just about them having adventures together, actually.
