This book had the least believable romance out of the series. They are constantly suspicious of one another up to even three-quarters of the way through the book when the Morgan family essentially forces a come-to-Jesus meeting to bring all their information together.

Not to mention the short period of time this story takes places over; they STILL throw the love word around like they weren't a woman who is traumatized by her mother's abandonment and a former soldier with PTSD/survivor's guilt.

I feel so meh about Falin. I really dislike pushy alpha male love interests and I think he's the one she's going to end with (the author is attempting a failed love triangle with Death). He distracts Alex at the worst times and it gets irritating to read. I bet the "little" issue of him being bound, by oath and compulsion, to another woman is going to be resolved in some cliched deus ex machina.

yaaaaaaay

As much as I enjoyed the main character, insurance fraud is a really, really boring way to start out a series. Even with murder involved.

I think I will be imagining what eyes that are "blue with age" really look like for a long time.

"His life was just the sort of pathetic life you would expect of Jodie Foster's estranged, less attractive fraternal twin."

And it just goes downhill from there for Martin. Well, sort of. I guess it depends on who you ask, huh?
