Eh, didn't captivate me. I'm also not in a great headspace to share in one of the main character's religious trauma & abuse.

Another low-stakes romcom - Griffin is kind, thoughful and respectful and therefore kinda boring, ngl.

This was a really cute, low-stakes romcom. I'm always a sucker for fake dating and I really liked Chloe and Barrett together. The variety of their sex life was fun - sometimes I think cishet romance novels forget that there's more to a good sex life than PIV.
The epilogue wrapped things up a bit too neatly (business deal went through anyway, despite Barrett blowing it up to get Chloe back) but didn't take much away from the whole story for me.

I really loved the Bright Falls series - Blake makes these characters immediately easy to read. I loved Stevie and really vibed with how she described her anxiety, because I think it's something a lot of us deal with.
"It’s not always easy to separate myself from my illness, or to even understand if I should separate myself at all? Like, what is my personality and what is my anxiety? Or are they the same thing? It’s confusing sometimes.”
Definitely did not read this summary before downloading or I never would have started it - DDlb/lg relationships are very much not my cup of tea. There's a line between Daddy and Daddy and I'm staying on the opposite side.

Very middle of the road - nothing really to dislike which kept me invested enough to finish it, but just barely. The most notable external conflict (the social media harassment) was too lowkey to have an impact on the narrative.

2 stars for the concept and so many negative stars for the execution. The writing felt like I was dropped into a mid-to-late aughts era fanfiction with updated slang. I could not tell what world the shifter realm was supposed to be with all its potentially anachronistic terms, I hated every single love interest and the FMC had potential that was consistently ruined each chapter of "development". The one sex scene between her and Cobra was ruined by how much I hated them both at that point.
