Very well-paced and excellent world-building. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Perfect for fans of “To Kill a Kingdom”, this is a fantastic adventure with incredible world-building. Definitely one of my favorite reads of 2020 - can’t wait for the next book!

This book definitely made me dislike Mal even more. He is jealous and immature, and a lot of the book focused on his and Alina’s petty fighting. The plot was a lot slower, focusing on the same things: the Darkling and the firebird, without much progress.

Nikolai carried this book 100%

Excellent world-building, characters, and slow-burn romance. I am giving 4 stars because I didn’t think the book needed to be 800 pages...the first half seemed to drag, but it picked up in the latter half. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

I loved the magic and romance in this one. The way the book was organized was interesting, but I found myself a lot more invested in Rielle’s story. I’m hoping Eliana grows on me in the next book.

Couldn’t have asked for a better ending. The Grisha trilogy will always be one of my top fantasy series!

Easily my most disappointing read this year. I really enjoyed Rielle’s story in Furyborn, and tolerated Eliana’s. In this book, I ended up skipping Eliana’s story all together. I simply couldn’t care less about her chapters. About halfway through, I lost interest in Rielle as well.

I had a lot of hope that the world building and Rielle’s powers would help improve the story, but it wasn’t enough. Since we technically know the ending, I felt that there was no point in wasting my time reading anymore.
