Wow, this is so much better the second time! It’s all in the details…there is so much foreshadowing that I’m wondering how I didn’t figure things out before. So excited for what’s to come - it only gets better from here.
“And when she grasped the dagger, its weight lighter than she remembered, Rowan looked into her eyes, into the very core of her, and said, ‘Fireheart.’”
This has to be the slowest book in the series, but has the best character development. Sarah, having struggled with depression, writes about mental health in such a raw way, which is what makes her one of my favorite authors. Seeing Celaena finally embrace her identity as Aelin was an incredible transformation. Also, how did we survive 2 books without Aedion, Rowan, and Manon?! Can’t wait to continue on this epic journey.

Since everyone was raving about this story, I had high hopes for this book.
However, I found the story to be unoriginal and Addie to be quite a dull character. There was a lot of potential for interesting stories throughout the decades, but they fell flat for me. I found 75% of the book to be very slow and the end seemed like it was being rushed through time.
Not a bad book, but I wouldn’t consider it a must-read.
