Fashion is always been related to politics and social status. This is a well researched and interesting visual history of how it evolved between the end of XIX and XX century.
It's an interesting read.

It's a compelling, well written and entertaining book that I couldn't put down. There's plenty of emotions, there's glamour but also how WWII impacted everyday life.
Small stories, well developed characters, a vivid historical background. The author is a talented storyteller able to keep the attention alive and the emotions are vivid.
Highly recommended.

This was my first book by this author and read very good reviews of her books.
The blurb sounded exciting and I loved the first 25% of the books. Unfortunately it became repetitive and the elements that sounded so interesting were absent.
It's not my cup of tea.

This book has potential as the author can surely write but I felt like the potential wasn't totally expressed and the story fell flat.
The character are interesting but a bit underdeveloped and the mystery part was a bit too predictable (assuming it was intended as a mystery)
Not my cup of tea.

An enjoyable and entertaining cozy mystery, I had fun and the solid mystery kept me guessing.
Likeable characters, a well plotted mystery and a great setting.
Want to read the rest of the series.

I think there's a morbid fascination with cults and serial killer. When I read the first pages I thought "This is a serial killer in the making" and was really exciting and prepared for a very twisty story.
I can't say there's no twist but the story is a bit confusing, the voices of the different POVs disjointed and I wasn't a fan of the characters, except Lily who's interesting.
I struggled a bit but my expectations were not met.

This book could be filed under a list of shelf and it would describe it as it's a urban fantasy, a book about relationship, getting touch, and how two characters who are opposite (an angel and a demon) love each other and must struggle.
It's one of those book I got by serendipity and I'm happy I read it because it's well written, poignant and gripping.
An excellent story, well plotted and emotionally charged.
Highly recommended.

I read other books by this author and liked them. This one is well written and the atmosphere has the right level of creepiness but it's also so similar to the original that it didn't keep my attention
Not my cup of tea.

This is one of those fantasy novel that are huge but you read them fast as they're gripping and enthralling.
The world building fascinated me as it's a sort of Roman Empire and I liked the details and how it was developed.
The plot is complex, dual POVs, plenty of characters and intrigue.
It's the first book I read by this author but won't surely be the last as it's an excellent fantasy.
Highly recommended.

It's the first book I read by this author and now I have a lot of books to read because it's brilliant.
Well plotted, fascinated world building and a gripping plot.
The characters are well developed, flawed and interesting.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
Highly recommended.
