very interesting story on how they survived. I liked the twist at the end so it didn't end up being a typical love story in the end.
very interesting. I found some of the middle of the story getting stale, but that didn't last too long. I probably won't read the 2nd book of the story but I will probably see the movie. I'm curious how they'll change the story.
started slow, with a learning curve
I originally started reading an abridged version of this book but I could tell pieces were missing so I jumped into this version. It took a bit of time to get adjusted to the writing style/ words since this was written so long ago. Once I was familiar with the style, the story got better. This was on my “TBR-before I die” list and I’m happy to have it marked off.

The only reason it doesn't have 5 stars is because it wasn't a page Turner. It was easy to set the book down and not go back for a week. But, this is a really good book! I can see myself going back to it, reading a chapter that's currently relevant to me, and revisiting a lit OG my favorite quotes.
Maybe I'm getting picky, but I expected this to be better. There were SO many words... I feel like the characters talked to the reader too much. The story was fine. A little predictable. There was not enough intrigue. There were not enough surprises or twists. I bet the movie will be better than the book.
This is a cute story about a crocodile and his friends at the beach. The children in my classroom are 2 and 3 years old. My 2 year olds were not very interested in the story, or the pictures, but my 3 year old enjoyed the pictures. The story was a little advanced for my kiddos, but it would be perfect for children ages 4 and up. The encouragement and friendships shown towards the crocodile are cute and easily understood by my 2 and 3 year olds. I will not be using this story in my classroom, but if I had a preschool, first or second grade class, this would be great in my curriculum to teach about acceptance, encouragement, bravery and friendship. The pictures were a little too confusing for my kids, but older children will love looking at all the little details, the animals, and the "hidden" images.
My classroom of 2 year olds loved the pictures in this book. They were very excited to identify the animals they were familiar with, and to see the babies acting in the same ways as the animals. They were curious about the unfamiliar animals and enjoyed trying to name the unfamiliar animals. They even enjoyed "acting" like the animals and babies. My only complaint about this book is that it was too long. My kids lost interest about halfway through the book. If this book was published in 2 parts (Love You Head to Toe and Love You Head to Toe 2) then it would be perfect for my Toddlers.
Manga Classics: The Stories of Edgar Allan Poe
Virginia Nitouhei, Man Yiu, Linus Liu, Chagen, Edgar Allan Poe, pikomaro, Stacy King, Uka Nagao
Edgar Allan Poe has been a favorite author of mine for decades. I have read his poems and stories in various formats, but this was the first time to read them in Manga. I loved how the pictures helped explain and express the words of Poe. Many of the stanzas made more sense with the pictures to help explain the emotion. I would highly recommend this as a companion to the classic writings of Poe. Using this as a learning tool would be fun, interesting, and very valuable.
The colors and shapes in the pictures were great. They grabbed the attention of the children. The words of the story bored the children. Using the pictures to count or ask open ended questions kept the attention of the children.
