this one was way better than the first book, very tropey of course but good

this is what i’m talking abouttttt love a good ya fantasy

plot follows Jude who is now struggling in exhile but then helps her twin by doing a twin swap then adventure follows

when i started this trilogy i wasn’t really vibing but the second and third were quality YA books

this honestly might’ve been the best out of the whole series. the illustrations were beautiful and the story was an interesting mix of POV reversal from the main story and fairy tales with morals.

a group of short stories from Prince Cardan’s perspective beginning with his childhood and then jumping through the trilogy plot to conclude with a new story post book 3. i loved the little moral story weaved through and it was interesting to finally hear Cardan’s perspective on why he is the way he is.

Second time reading this book and the reread value is 10/10 Maggie writes such beautiful adventure stories. i love the way she portrays friendships and relationships and the expansion of this world is so exciting and intriguing

i listened to the audiobook this time around and the voice actor was great. he has a gravelly tough guy voice which i’ve never listened to an audiobook with a voice like that but it’s very fitting for Ronan. however his british accent for Hennessy and the girls was rough.

the plot follows ronan and his brothers (from the raven boys series) as he manages his life after high school and struggles with new dreamers problems. There’s new bad people, expansions on the dreaming mechanics, and new characters and new ~superpowers ~.

from the perspective of Taryn in book 1. interesting perspective on the relationships but still doesn’t explain much of Taryn

terribly sad story of a mother dying of cancer and the daughter’s connection to her korean culture. don’t listen to in public.

i didn’t realize she’s from the band Japanese Breakfast until the end

a bit slow paced but really interesting concept

Plot tells the story of a novelist living in a society where things disappear everyday. Forts the birds then hats then calendars and so on. somehow the government controls this.

I NEED THE NEXT ONE NOW

SOS WHAT HAPPENED TO [NO SPOILERS]
aahhhhhh

yet again maggie hits us with a beautifully written fantasy adventure with beautiful characters with real relationships and crazy dreams
this is how all books should be
it’s wonderous

comparable to deathly hallows in the fact that it is too long, mostly nothing happening just sad war stuff, people die.

no spoilers but the end was very happy wrapped up in a bow which was sorta boring honestly. Some cameos from the crows which is great again. i also really liked the chapters from the Darklings perspective very interesting.

very confused why the called the dwelling General Kirigan in the tv show when that is literally a character in the books.

excited that the book ends with teasing that there will be another crows book. Crows still stands as my favorite in the grishaverse

also enjoyed the vague trans character and the gay rights in this book~
