This was really enjoyable. The spice was pretty great too. I will say that although I mostly liked Taegan, he does some pretty idiotic things in this book. One idiotic thing in particular. And he’s not as nice to Korvut as I’d prefer. I never understand why characters have feelings for their partner and try to hide them? Like if it’s a good thing then just share it lol.
Taegan continues to be a dumbass and do idiotic things in this book. He never questions things that should obviously be questioned, and he holds things back from Korvut that he shouldn’t. In this book I also found myself being annoyed with Korvut, which didn’t happen in book 1. In book 1 Korvut was an angel baby, and in this one he was a bit selfish (not that Taegan wasn’t even more selfish, but still…)
Nevertheless, I love these two idiots together. I wish this book had a bit more spice. Korvut+Taegan make for good sexy times.

This was a super strong finish to the trilogy. I liked Taegan so much more in this one; he only did one stupid thing and he wasn’t overly selfish anymore. This book felt far more emotional than the previous two, which makes sense based on the characters having settled into being together and also based on the plot things happening. But man, I had some pages there where my eyes would NOT stop leaking. I felt like this part of the story was really beautiful, and I’m glad to have read it.

The first thing I want to say is that it feels important to have read this book. I would say it's not my normal type of book (as an MM reader); although it is MM-coded in general, it starts to feel less like a MM romance partway through the book. The shift is subtle and well executed, and I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to read something outside what I consider my usual.
One thing I really like in this story is just how far gone Red is for Ande—he's fully obsessed. And yeah, sure, that's also maybe a red flag. WHATEVER, it's fiction, so I love it.

Ok, so I freakin' loved MateHub: Legend!
This is a new-to-me author and now she'll be a go-to. I am super impressed with this book, which captivated me from the beginning. I stayed up until almost 4am to finish it because I couldn't put it down.
Neither Richard (a wolf shifter) nor Hunter (a human) enter their arranged temporary bond with the intention of catching feelings; in fact, just the opposite, because catching feelings would most likely jeopardize their careers as adult entertainers. Of course it just so happens that their scents are uncommonly compatible, much to Richard's dismay, and the arrogant shifter can't figure out why Hunter isn't as clingy as all his other former temporary mates. What are they going to do, as the date to sever their temporary bond grows closer?
Damn, this story had me all over the place, emotionally. Mostly I was laughing, because god this is a funny book. The titles of all the porn movies, the porn stage names, the side characters... The banter (in person, in online forums, and via text) was so witty that I found myself cackling quite often. I also swooned whenever Richard cooked for Hunter or when he was so bad at playing any video game involving fighting but he was a champ at taking care of virtual magical animals. There were a few times that I cried during the book as well. Despite the sweetness and humor in the book, there were also some heartwarming and heart-wrenching parts.
I am so glad that I was able to read an ARC of this book, as it was truly a pleasure. This is my honest review of it.

I don't want to talk about the plot, because anything of substance that I could mention that's not in the blurb would be a spoiler. So instead I'll just talk about my general impressions. The book deals with a lot of dark themes, but not in the way that some books do that feels gratuitous. Alek and Ian are in such a toxic but clearly loving relationship; I found myself easily empathizing with both of them (even though I have little to nothing in common with them) because of the depth Verdone has put into the characters, to the point where it seemed like I could feel their emotions as my own while I was reading.
The only conclusion I can draw is that Thea Verdone is a genius. This book is a work of art, from the beautiful cadence of the sentences, to the vivid imagery, to the impeccable diction.
I feel like this book should be taught in universities, should be made into a movie, should inspire artists to paint the Gothic Victorian mansion with crumbling walls and wisteria blooms, the charred piano covered in ash, the fox pacing along the edge of the forest.
The descriptions of Alek's synesthesia, combined with Verdone's gorgeous imagery, made for an incredibly immersive reading experience. When the book was over, I just stared at the wall, feeling lost. How am I supposed to move on to other books now?
