The very worst thing about this book is that I don’t feel the story really progressed. Sure, things happen, but for a story to progress problems need to be solved or at least come to some sort of end. To me it felt that the author just piled on some more problems.
The very best thing about this book is that even though it drove me crazy, it still kept me somewhat entertained. Also, I did not feel the need to shoot myself. That is high praise for a book I rate two stars. :-D

The very worst thing about this book are the poems and song lyrics that are randomly inserted into the book. I suppose in some way they serve a purpose, but usually it just seems like the purpose is to show off that the author knows a few lines of poetry and can write a couplet.
The very best thing about this book is, well, the cover, shockingly. And that’s saying something considering how minimalist the cover is. I really do love that cover, though… There are some good moments in the story, but not many and the writing takes away from those moments.

The very worst thing about this book is that you don’t get to see enough of the science-y stuff that Cole does. :-(
The very best thing about this book is the end. I absolutely loved the way it ended. In fact, I almost considered this as sci-fi as well because of how Cole is looking for a cure, but I didn’t feel it really went far enough into the science of the possible cure. Still, the cop was a surprise for me as was how much I enjoyed the ending. It is rare that I rate a book further along in a series higher than a previous book…

The very worst thing about this book is why Allie can skinjack. It’s not that it’s a bad plot point, or anything, it’s just really sad. :-(
The very best thing about this book is the reason skinjackers can skinjack. It’s genius! I won’t give it away, but it takes a sincerely twisted mind to come up with such an amazing detail. ^_^

The very worst thing about this book is that this world had to come to an end with the books. Thank goodness I can visit again the next time I read the trilogy.
The very best thing about this book is how incredibly detailed the entire story has been. You just can’t beat good writing, good story-telling, and attention to detail. ^_^ Thank you, Mr. Shusterman, for sharing this masterpiece with us! I love when a series gets better as it progresses.

An awesome short about Joan's death, as the title implies. :-D
I really, really, really hate cliffhangers. I also quite enjoy them when I can immediately dive into the next book. So everyone is either dead or dying or missing and he left me with a cliffhanger. *frustrated sounds of angst*
