While I felt that almost all loose ends were a bit too tidied up at the end of the first book, there was still the big issue of her biological parents. This book starts to answer those questions, but seems like it was an afterthought. Still really enjoyable, but not as good as the first book. I'm starting the final (I think the third book is the end) book now and hopefully will find it as awesome as the first one.
This was a fascinating look into Trevor Noah's earlier life. I love him on the Daily Show and the stand-up comedy I've seen from him is also delightful. Having heard him speak about growing up in South Africa is mostly what prompted me to read this book. I really enjoyed his insights on language being something that can easily bring people together or keep them apart. I've said many times that language can be a weapon and he provides excellent examples that show exactly how language can be weaponized.
Obviously I love this book. Bill Nye is amazing and his book is just him in written form.
Final Sunrise
This story actually brought tears to my eyes a few times. And the narrator surprised me! It is not who I thought it would be at all.
Give me liberty, or give me death!
The Sermon
This was pretty horrifying and, if you're a believer of such things, a good way to scare folks back into church. Although at the end, I'm wondering if the church part was all delusion considering the other details...
Sam
I figured this one's twist out fairly quickly, but that didn't make it any less enjoyable!
Kurt the Hurt
The flip-flopping narrative is insane, but brilliant! And there's some horrible language in this one, but we do start out the story learning that he is a "Piece Of Shit Scumbag" or "POSS" so it's keeping in character.
The Caraveeners
All the damned tears! What started out as a hero-worship story had a sad twist. Why would this be the last story!?
Disclaimer: I do consider myself friends with the author, but I paid for this book and my friendship with the author has no bearing on my rating or review.

Mental illness is something that affects so many people in our world. And yet, it's still something people feel ashamed about. This book deals with the aspects of handling the mental illness of a loved one when there isn't much you can do.
A child, no matter how resourceful, cannot manage their parent.
This was a fascinating book. I loved every bit of it, but mostly the overarching theme of mental illness. Different isn't bad, but sometimes you have to take care of yourself first. That is the lesson that seems to be most prevalent.
I'm looking forward to meeting this author (she'll be at an event for a nearby bookstore) and telling her in person how much I enjoyed this story.

The cover and title of this book caught my attention. The prologue and first chapter ensnared me. And the story just sucked me right in.
Jack is a delightful character. And how he deals with the general bullying because he's gay is one thing, but how he deals with the mental and emotional abuse he suffers at the hands of some crazy person?! That's another thing entirely!!
Personally, I think Jack doesn't handle the general bullying in the best way, but at the same time it's not like I can give him tips to be better at it because it's the same way I handle it as a nonconfrontational individual. His handling of the notes and his stalker, though... I fully get where he's coming from. Being nonconfrontational sucks. It's easier to just roll with it. But hopefully this book shows that you shouldn't just roll with abuse in any form.
There is so much fantastic information packed into this little fiction book!! I adore it! The responses to the questions for the advice column contain actual, good, sex-positive, safe advice!! I love it!!

This was a great book to read. I've read a good bit about the idea of a Universal Basic Income and, after reading this, I'm pretty much on board.
Oh my Nokley! This book embodied the rush of young love, the crazed "this is the most important thing ever" feelings regarding most teenaged relationships, and the true tenderness of deep friendships so well!
I adored every bit of this book.

My favorite quote from the book is from the end:
This book was fantastic. I feel like so many people I know should read this book and I hope that they do. Specifically, I would love to get input from friends that are under the GSRM (LGBTQIA+) umbrella, both neither and not. {I happen to be asexual, but I'm also straight-passing and I'm fully aware that I do not have anywhere close to the same experience others under the GSRM umbrella do.}
“Should they participate solely because they are atheist? No. Should they participate because respect and compassion for all human beings is the right thing to do? Yes.”

Eh... This is definitely not my type of book. The story was enjoyable enough, but the writing style was not for me. I had to switch to the audiobook to read this one.
I'm not sure how I feel about the ending, but I see why so many people like the book even if I'm not feeling it.
