Jack of Hearts
by L.C. Rosen
The cover and title of this book caught my attention. The prologue and first chapter ensnared me. And the story just sucked me right in.
Jack is a delightful character. And how he deals with the general bullying because he's gay is one thing, but how he deals with the mental and emotional abuse he suffers at the hands of some crazy person?! That's another thing entirely!!
Personally, I think Jack doesn't handle the general bullying in the best way, but at the same time it's not like I can give him tips to be better at it because it's the same way I handle it as a nonconfrontational individual. His handling of the notes and his stalker, though... I fully get where he's coming from. Being nonconfrontational sucks. It's easier to just roll with it. But hopefully this book shows that you shouldn't just roll with abuse in any form.
There is so much fantastic information packed into this little fiction book!! I adore it! The responses to the questions for the advice column contain actual, good, sex-positive, safe advice!! I love it!!
