While as intense as the others, there was less use of the word intense - which was appreciated.

This was fantastic and fantastical! I've never heard of jumbies before, that I can recall. But I'm ready to start the next book already!

Once upon a time, I worked at a daycare. There was a little girl in my group named Corinne and while today she would probably be about eighteen, I'm imagining her at eleven-years-old as this Corinne. She was one of my favorites in the group and picturing her as the badass, kind, and mostly selfless girl in this book makes me smile.

And of course, in case it isn't obvious, I devoured this book because it's amazing!!!

This is the second series that I've come upon a version of Huracan. He's a bit more grumpy in this version, but I loved every second of this.

The art is amazing and while it took a bit for the three different storylines to come together, it's totally worth it.

I half-listened and half-read with my eyes and I mention this because the voice actors for the audiobook were heavenly. Their voices made my ears happy!!
