It was delightful. I wish it maybe wasn't so wordy, but I find that's a thing in most fantasy, so no actual complaints on that.
I finished this a few days ago, but I'm not sure how I feel about the series so far. Like, I enjoyed it, but I'm not invested. Does that make sense? I really liked the first book, though.
It's been a hard month, though, so I'm going to take a break from these and start the third book at a later time. Maybe it's just my mood affecting my enjoyment.

This was a much more in-depth book than I expected. I mean, I expected depth, but it didn't expect so much deep history. It's absolutely fascinating.
Apparently I just love everything ever written by Katherine Applegate because it's all so good! This book was delightful.
I'm reading this again in preparation of the new Rick Riordan book "Daughter of the Deep" that is inspired/stems from this book and "The Mysterious Island" also by Jules Verne. It's still enjoyable and now I'm starting the other book that I haven't read.
I had no idea that Captain Nemo appeared in another book until Rick Riordan said his newest book was inspired by this one and "20,000 Leagues" and, granted, he's not super present in this one, it was interesting to read knowing he would appear eventually.
Wow... Just, yeah.
So I read this because of the library's book club. It's caught my eye before, but I'm not usually bone for murder mystery books. They're enjoyable, but not my jam. There's no real mystery here you know who the killer is. The biggest mystery is how everything is going to be handled by the sisters.

As a kid born in the eighties, I of course watched the movie and had no idea it was based on a book. At least not until a few years ago.
But I finally read it and it's delightful. I definitely got the "kids these days don't ever read" vibe from it, though, and I can't recall getting that from the movie, but it's been a while.

This is an old favorite of mine. I'm glad to see it still stands the test of time for me.
