Really enjoyed this book, very funny and an easy book to race through at the beginning of the year.
Made me laugh out loud on multiple occasions and was a lovely book to finish.
Jane is as funny, as she is mentally-ill and I felt the representation of that mental illness was a good one.
Not perfect but definitely one I will keep on my shelves!

I really enjoyed this whodunnit. I did not see the ending coming and it kept things interesting.
Some of the "origin stories" were a bit harrowing, and it's not easy going in that respect, however, as we are trying to understand the motives of a serial killer it makes sense contextually. These messed up childhoods absolutely might create a serial killer.
Kept me guessing right to the end and was actually quite gripping.
Found this to be a slow start but really picked up in the third act and personally I could have done with a bit more pace, potentially this is an audio-book issue rather than a book issue. I liked it overall but I don't think I would go back to it.

What an absolutely amazing start to 2022, my first finished book of the year, I loved every moment of this book and could not put it down. I devoured it slowly and enjoyed every moment of it, sumptuous, slow burning, desire filled and ultimately heartbreaking.
Two very interesting women, in love and the absolute lust and poetry amongst their letters is just something else.

This was a great book, I loved the story of a woman realising her new neighbour is a vampire and everyone thinks she is insane.

This was utterly heartbreaking.

Really rough lots of domestic abuse and very hard to read took it out of me and I was glad when parts of this book were over.

I liked the flower meanings however found the way Alice moped through the book.

Really liked this book, it was very sweet and auggie was totally lovable, a cute book all round.

Quite funny in parts and nearly had me crying, not quite but nearly. Although I am a massive softie when it comes to small kids in books, so I don't know how representative that would be.

I definitely have seen the film but I did not realise this until after the bit about the spaceman helmet. I also think the book is quite different from the film.

Solid book, it took me a while to get through the audio book, it's not one that will stay on my shelves, but definitely worth picking up if you like historical fiction based on real people and events.

It was possibly about 100 pages longer than I would have liked but overall I enjoyed the story.

Fleetwood the main character is a strong leading lady and very worthy in trying to save her poor midwife Alice who is accused of witchcraft and the murder of a child.

So, this book felt like it would never end... It did and for that I am immensely glad.

Told from multiple perspectives it was hard to settle into this book, the way its presented feels really choppy in parts and I found it difficult to follow some times when picking it back up, I would find myself having to flick back to remember where we last left whatever characters we were with.

Some really beautiful scene setting and made me want to go see the mountains described.

Didn't enjoy the domestic physical violence and felt it did not add anything, could have been left out in my humble opinion, it felt like a cheap trick to pull at your heart strings, there was plenty of neglect and self hatred that it just didn't need adding.

Tw for a husband raping his wife while we are at it.

It wasnt horrible as a book, but it left me wanting and I really don't think I would recommend this to anyone.

I really enjoyed the books setting, it's like a camp 80s neon cyberpunk dream.
I liked the setting much more than the books story I felt it went on a lot longer than I would have liked and honestly it really didn't pick up until over halfway through and the ending felt really rushed.

I didn't hate the characters however Teama who you spend most of the book with got on my nerves by the end with her lack of self belief and it was just a bit grating as we are continually being told how amazing her meditation in childhood makes her at brainloading information.

Queer representation though so that was a nice added bonus.
