I genuinely cannot believe I'm saying this...but this was actually GOOD??? I felt all the emotions I was supposed to feel to the max with this one to the point where I had to get up and pace because I was so proud of the characters! This is exactly what I wanted from the first 3 volumes!! I can't wait to see where this story goes next!

Get you a morally grey man who moves as fast as Rhysand! Feyre said she like likes him so he made her the high lady of the night out in like, under a week!

I just... I don't even know what to say at this point. Y'all have truly bamboozled me with this series. The most common thing I have heard about this series, and this book in particular, is how it's endless smut. But it's not??? There's some at the start of the book and then chapter 55 SJM went OFF but that's pretty much it. Honestly, this is a really interesting story featuring a main character dealing with ptsd and possibly other mental health issues (it read as depression to me) while also having to fight in a war to save a world she's only just become a part of, as well as the world she was forced to leave behind. It's a really quick read with, in my opinion, really well-written characters and I already can't wait to pick up book 3!
Trigger Warnings: Past Trauma & PTSD, Mental Abuse, Holding someone against their will, Thoughts about suicide (on page), Suicidal thoughts, Whipping (off page), Physical and mental abuse (past), Mistreatment of children, Violence, Death, Murder, Discussions about rape, Rape (past)
series ranking so far:
1. A Court of Mist and Fury ⭐⭐⭐⭐.25
2. A Court of Thorns and Roses ⭐⭐⭐.5

An interesting colour scheme and art style but completely boring story and characters. Absolutely not worth your time.

Woah. I am truly in shock right now. I was in the mood for something quick so I threw on the audiobook of this, expecting to DNF it a few chapters in, having previously heart scathing reviews. So, colour me surprised when not only did I enjoy this, but I'm literally about to start book 2 in the series. Y'all made me think this would be terrible but it's not, it's literally just a New Adult (Feyre is 19) fantasy novel???? Some of you need to re-assess how you view NA fantasy and how you talk about it, because I thought this was pretty good.
Trigger Warnings: Physical abuse, Death, Murder, Loss of a loved one, Beatings, Mentions of whippings, Mentions of torture, Poverty, Stabbing (on page), Mentions of suicide (multiple), Eating moldy food, Magical Drug/Wine (Taker can't control their actions and rarely remembers), Bones being broken (graphic), Torture (graphic, on page)

This reminded me a lot of A Silent Voice so if you like that manga series I recommend picking this up too. Komi, one of the main characters, has severe social anxiety and so generally doesn't use her voice to speak which I really loved seeing kin this manga. However, the language isn't massively mental health-friendly. Komi has social anxiety and the main character, even though his intentions are good, talks about wanting to "fix" her and that doesn't sit right with me. Also, Komi is often drawn as angry which was a bit annoying.
Overall, this is a really wholesome manga about making friends and the different aspects of friendship. It also shines a light on getting to know people before you judge them. I really enjoyed this so I'll definitely continue the series in the future!

This was a total surprise and an absolute blast! I never got into Nancy Drew as a kid but reading this made me wish I had! I loved how Kelly Thompson and the rest of the creative team reimagned the group to be modern teens, and the inclusion of the Hardy Boys (who I low-key want to start reading about too???) was so much fun!
I really hope there'll be a second volume because this was an absolute blast and a total diamond in the rough! I cannot recommend this enough!

This was a total blast! I can really see why this series was my favourite all through high school, I'm a complete sucker for the pessimistic/sarcastic kids who grow up too fast! This was such a fun volume and I can't wait to continue this series!

I still think volume 3 was the best one but, this was a real step up too. Some great character development and an interesting plot too!
Wishing we got a bit more Walt but I also love how female-centric this series is! In vol 2 we had a mysterious astronaut drop out of the sky, in vol 3 there was a sabotaged car race and in vol 4 we're taking on the KGB! Why not?!? I love the artwork, I love how diverse the characters are and I LOVE how female-centric this series is! Whenever something comes up that ordinarily in any other story, a man would take over and fix the problem, Goldie, Diane or Cheryl takes care of it! It's such an amazing change of pace and I love it! The last couple of pages were so interesting - what a cliffhanger. I can't believe we're not getting a fifth volume!

I loved everything about this volume - a better mystery, more Dianne content and SO MUCH PINK (with those pastel green backgrounds? I'm swooning guys, I'm literally swooning.) I also really came to love Sugar in this volume and hope we'll see her again soon!
