Nothing like a nostalgic historical romance to kick off the new year!

I fall in love with this book more and more upon each re-read. I love all the minor details Austen writes int throughout the book and already can't wait to re-read this again!

Every time I re-read P&P I always come away loving or hating different characters and this re-read was no different. Last year I despised Darcy and this time I understood him more than I have in the past, I also focused more on the siblings this year and oh boy, are the younger girls mistreated and mismanaged! I'd never quite realised just how neglectful Mr and Mrs Bennet were until today.
This really was a perfect way to end out 2020!

I read this last year and loved it so when I found out that Zoe (ReadbyZoe) was starting a book club for Austen's novels I had to join! It was a great feeling to be back in the drama of the Bennet's lives and I can't wait to re-read it again in a year or two.

I just had to re-read this one before season 2 comes out and I have no regrets.

It took me a little while to warm up to the main characters but I was having a great time by the end, even if I can't stand the whole "owning" thing connected to marriage.

Genuinely the most boring book I've read in quite a while. I feel like we never actually got to know the characters and honestly, having now finished the book I don't know that I want to. I think that the first 4 books worked so well because we got to know the other characters so well, but I barely even recognised Eloise's name before I started reading this one, and that certainly impacted the reading experience.

one singular clip of the new season came out and my brain immediately went into hyperfixation mode again 👍👍👍

I was just in the mood for some quality polin content after the season 3 announcement so if you see me read this for the fifth time in 3 years any time soon, no you didn’t.

My favourite book in my series re-read so far. I definitely loved seeing Colin and Penelope become friends and then lovers, I can't wait to see these two fall in love on screen too!

“Isn’t it nice to discover that we’re not exactly what we thought we were?”

I absolutely devoured this one but, I have to say these books lose a little bit of their charm upon a re-read just because I hadn't noticed before how often Colin manhandles Penelope and it made me a bit uncomfortable. But, other than that this was a lot of fun and had a lot of drama!

A bit of a slow start and maybe too much melodrama for me but I did really enjoy this one and I'm getting the feeling it might end up being my favourite book in the series.

I’m just repeating myself at this point when I say that I enjoy this as a Cinderella retelling, but Benedict really didn’t pass the vibe check on this reread. I can only hope that I will like him better in the show.

I don't think I enjoyed this one as much as last time, but I still maintain that it's one of my favourite Cinderella retellings of all time! (I also CANNOT wait to see these two on-screen together!)

Possibly the only Cinderella retelling that's ever made any damn sense.

Very entertaining writing but so much about this felt underdeveloped to me. I'll continue the series because I love Whistledown's voice, but the next book better not be as problematic as this one.

“Some monsters speak, child,” said the beast. “The very best monsters speak like kings and queens, eloquent and alluring, and the trick is learning not to listen. If you listen to those monsters, they’ll have your heart out before you realize how much danger you’re in.”

I absolutely love Seanan McGuire’s writing so obviously, this is a good read but there’s just something about this story that isn’t fully catching my attention yet.

This book was completely wild and a bit mind-boggling to the point where I found myself re-reading sentences a lot. But it was also fantastic and so obviously a Seanan McGuire book so I loved it! I loved getting to know Rodger and Dodger, especially via the audiobook which was SO GOOD. I absolutely can't wait for the sequel (even though you can 100% read this as a standalone) and will be reading Over The Woodward Wall asap!

I think I enjoyed this slightly more in the second half than the first and *just* slightly more than the first book. This series is fantastic and should be getting just as much love as the Wayward Children series does. If you love short books and metaphors you should give this a go!

I absolutely loved the writing and how it felt to just be told a story so I will absolutely be continuing this series if and when my library gets the next books.

It took me a few chapters to get used to the writing and the characters but as soon as it clicked with me I was really enjoying this! I don't really know how to describe this experience, other than that it was fantastic and I highly recommend it!
