I picked this book up after seeing it all over social media—especially in the MaskTok community—and it definitely lived up to the hype. The premise hooked me right away: the use of a mask and social media to connect the main characters felt timely and creative. Their introduction was surprisingly believable (though I did raise an eyebrow at Tyler not recognizing his best friend of several years).
One of the biggest wins for me was the lack of a dramatic second-act breakup. While there were some withheld truths, it didn’t fall into the usual miscommunication trap that drags out conflict unnecessarily. The spice level was solid—well-written, meaningful to the story, and leaning into darker romance themes that earned it a higher heat rating without feeling gratuitous.
I’m especially glad I listened to the audiobook version—fantastic narration elevated the experience even further.
My heart. It. It hurts.
While the start of this book is a bit… overwhelming with all the people and places. Man what a good book. What an ending, Rebecca Yarros has done it again

Typical billionaire arranged marriage book except they actually like each other from day one. The miscommunication trope was definitely a front runner in the plot, but it wasn’t like everything that was happening was miscommunication and lying. It was used in a realistic way and pops back up in times of heightened emotions.
I think I read the same smut at least 12 times. Every other chapter was about how much Adara and Evren wanted each other and just had to have each other. War tomorrow, sex, mom died, sex, friends died, sex… the first book was the best out of all of them and I’m not going to read the spin off.
While this book was 75% smut and 25% plot the smut was fantastic. There’s nothing I love more than a possessive male. I wish there was more to the books, I want more character development and backstory and I want to care for them on more than a surface level.
I get a loose feeling of From Blood and Ash when I read this. The banter is great, the storyline is interesting. The tension, the secrets all wonderful. I wish there was more world building. I want more info on the starborn lines, more about the prince’s and their relationships. All that would have easily made this a 5 ⭐️ read. Still definitely recommend!
The writing of this book is so novice. It’s insta love but they spend the whole book knowing they are drawn to each other but try to continue to hate each other.
I was so sad for this book to be done. Cameron is *chefs kiss* the perfect dirty talk. It was a light easy read, couldn’t put it down.
A fast spicy read. 4 hours and I had finished it front to back. Definitely an instant read-love situation even if it tries to be enemies to lovers. Spice is spicy, characters have depth to them, there’s a back story and sub plots to connect everything so it’s not just a pure spice book.
The author’s writing style was a bit underwhelming for this kind of book. At times, I felt that the dialogue was a bit juvenile in how they, especially Henry, act throughout the book. The twists and the surprises that were left throughout the book, by about halfway through seem to piece together and the reveal in the last few chapters is less exciting seeing that you already know what’s going to happen if you could put all the pieces together.
