I picked this book up after seeing it all over social media—especially in the MaskTok community—and it definitely lived up to the hype. The premise hooked me right away: the use of a mask and social media to connect the main characters felt timely and creative. Their introduction was surprisingly believable (though I did raise an eyebrow at Tyler not recognizing his best friend of several years).

One of the biggest wins for me was the lack of a dramatic second-act breakup. While there were some withheld truths, it didn’t fall into the usual miscommunication trap that drags out conflict unnecessarily. The spice level was solid—well-written, meaningful to the story, and leaning into darker romance themes that earned it a higher heat rating without feeling gratuitous.

I’m especially glad I listened to the audiobook version—fantastic narration elevated the experience even further.
