PIKE LAWSONπŸ§ŽπŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ˜

Why would anyone settle for a man child who does the bare minimum when you can have Pike Lawson?! He's sexy, confident but not cocky and swoony! 😍

This book has a big age gap but for me it never felt forced or cringe. Jordan was very mature for her age and Pike never felt like those pervy men obsessed with being with a younger woman and their chemistry was πŸ”₯! I ate this up!

I have so many mixed feelings.
Did I devour this book? Yes!
Did I hate the first half of it? Also yes!
Did it get better? Eh... sometimes?
Did I hate Killian Carson? Yes, like 60% of the time.

Why are we making rapist, psychopaths with virgin kinks the love interest? Why are we acting like he is fucking great? There were times were he acted like a decent human being and I thought maybe I could like him but then I remember everything he did and I hated him again.

Now my girlie Glyndon, I'm convinced she misplaced her brain somewhere around characters 2-4 and never found it again and that's why she started normalizing and liking Killian's shitty behavior.

My favorite thing about this book? His Lordship Remington Astor in all his ridiculous glory! He was funny and helped me get through this book.

I'll read the other books only because I want to see what happens with Cecily and Annika and their love interests. I hope they don't get ruined! 🀞🏽

6 stars ⭐
This book is the best dark romance I've read! I support Lana Myers rights and wrongs because she's a fucking badass and deserve the world. This world would definitely be much better place with her in it.

This story was so captivating, I couldn't put it down until I finished. The plot  was like a mix of criminal minds and Dexter with the perfect touch of romance, friendship and chosen family.

I can't believe it took me so long to read this book and now it's definitely in my list of favorite books of all time.

It was okay! Second chance romance, cute at times but the fmc needed to stand up more for herself and the mmc needed to be less cocky and more understanding of her insecurities. The miscommunication for the first break up was annoying but we can't ask for a lot because they were teenagers, it's expected for them to be stupid lol

Ari and Blake were cute! The friendships in this were so funny, the text messages between Ari and Liconl and the conversations between Ari and the disney prince Walker and the whole circle of trust thing were some of my favorite parts. Can't wait to see all these unhinged men together!

The MCs: Ari is an unhinged golden retriever, he's been obsessed with this girl since they were kids. He has always been sure they were soulmates and did everything to make sure nothing drove them apart. His possessiveness annoyed me at times and the way he could do whatever he wanted/needed to get Blake's ex away from her was kind of ridiculously easy. The drugs, the no flight list, everything was way too easy and quickly even for someone with money.
Blake is s beautiful girl with a lot of issues, she struggled with her body image and self-confidence but a lot of that came from her parents' situation and the way her adoptive parents made her feel specially that bitch Maura. Thankfully she finds a way to deal with that, although that change and growth also felt too fast and easy.

Overall I liked the story and how protective Ari was of Blake so it made up for some inconsistencies πŸ˜…

So I've been debating my rating of this book because I liked a lot of things and questioned others.

First of all, my poor girl Monroe has had a rough life and she's not even 20 yet. Her mom was a prostitute and addict and she became an orfan young. Then there's not one fucking man she's come across that doesn't want to get in her pants or sexually harass her to try to get into them. Ugh! Men! πŸ™„ The only good one was Bill, the sweetest homeless man ever! 🫢🏽

Lincoln wasn't bad at the beginning, he feels guilty about his brother's death and his parents are trash. However one lucky day, he messages Monroe by accident and things take off from there. His stalkerish and possessive behavior wasn't that bad, at the beginning. Although instalove/love st first sight isn't my cup of tea, I didn't mind it much but things escalated little by little. I didn't mind a lot of the story until we hit around the 80-85% mark and he just becomes completely unhinged. His behavior was unforgivable but if she's going to forgive him for the purpose of giving the book a happy ending, at least make him grovel, make him work for it. At the beginning Monroe was an independent woman trying to make it on her own but then after discovering everything and feeling manipulated and grossed out, she just decides life could be worst and move on. WHAT?!

So overall, I enjoyed this but there were some things that annoyed me or didn't make a lot of sense. It wasn't a bad book and I never felt the need to DNF so I'm counting it as a win lol

This book was much better than the first one, that's for sure. It wasn't perfect but I really liked it.

OMG Nino Falcone! This man is everything!! How can someone who doesn't feel anything be so freaking perfect and considerate?

He went slow for her, he killed her abuser, he always had his finger on her pulse to be able to understand her and her emotions better. He did everything he could to help her feel safe and to gain her trust. I AM DEAD!! 😭❀️

Kiara, my poor girl was terrified and everyone and everything but she's getting better little by little thanks to Nino's help and his brothers. At least some of them πŸ˜…

Can't wait to read more about them in Twisted Bonds!

I liked the book, but I didn't love it. When I read the blurb, it sounded really promising because it was a celebrity romance and had the bodyguard and fake dating tropes which I enjoy. Unfortunately, I had trouble connecting with the writing, I guess it was because I'm more used to reading 1st person POVs than 3rd person POVs but I felt like it jumped a lot between Taylor and Natalie, and sometimes I was lost and didn't know who she was talking about. As a result, I didn't connect with the characters and the miscommunication was annoying because a lot could have been solved a lot faster if they just talked to each other like adults. The story definitely has some fun and cute aspects like the friendships, the stargazing, and the cute little cat they found and adopted. However, it felt surface level many times, and I just wanted a bit more character growth.
